Is it true because most the reps have no clue.

If I buy a domain in my Godaddy account that has a email attached

Then I go and change the email for the admin.

I then do an account change to a 3rd party

All three will receive a ICANN contact info update click yes email

Only two have to click yes.

I click yes in the Godaddy account email and the admin email

That will unlock the "pending update' and it will go into the "account change"

3rd party has to do nothing but accept the domain in their account.

They do not have to click yes to the ICANN contact email and they can disregard that email since 2 out of the three other emails clicked yes.

Is that correct and the fastest way to do an account change at Godaddy?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
From my limited experience of this new GoDaddy "feature" every change is required to approve the change of registration.

Called GoDaddy and received completely inept support. Usually the people on the phone know their stuff.
The guy I talked to was snotty and had attitude aplenty.
Worse, he was giving wrong info. He kept trying to tell me that to push a GD domain to GD account, I would need to turn off privacy. And it "has always been that way".
When I tried to correct him that that was only for transfers out to another registrar, he got angry.
No updated FAQ that I can find to explain why the whole account change process for domains is suddenly so convoluted.
Its like GD doesn't want to make money any more.
Transferring all my domains out. :woot:
