I am in the process of selling a domain to an end user, but apparently I cannot transfer a domain away to another registrar for at least 60 days after registration. I did not know this :S and I already told the guy that I'd help him transfer to BlueHost.com. The only way he can get the domain at this time if he creates a GoDaddy account. However, how do I ask him to create an account? I don't want to sound shady or like a scammer. I wanted to make this as simple as possible for him.

This does happen sometimes when selling domains... There are worse problems to have. :)

Explain that the domain is currently locked and can not be transferred away from Godaddy for 60 days. Offer them the option to wait the 60 days, or in the interest of closing the deal recommend they create a Godaddy account to receive the domain - and they can transfer it to BlueHost after 60 days. In the meantime they can forward the DNS to BlueHost and will have full control and ownership of the domain.

Let them know that this is an ICANN policy and it was implemented over the past year, do a Google search to find a few links that you can show to the buyer to validate what you are saying. Then as suggested above give them the option to wait the 60 days or create a GD account. (Assure them that it's a quick and easy process to create a GD account)
