I just noticed that Hoteis.tv is up for auction on Sedo with a 1,000 EUR bid.

I am going to take a guess and say that Hoteis must mean hotels in Portuguese.

Going forward, End users are the key ... hopefully this will be the case here with "Hoteis.tv" in auction! :gl: :imho:

Thanks for the post,

Hey Domain Jedi,

If you have any .tv's you might want to get into auction,
add your .tv's here...

http://www.namepros.com/645294-list-your-available-tvs-go-sedo-2.html#post3767651

A bunch of us are trying to get some .tv's into auction at exactly the same time as the Big One!

Out of curiosity has anyone checked with sedo as to whether they would be interested in cherry picking from the NP names and formally adding them to the main auction? A number of members hold names just as good (if not better than) the majority of names up for auction.

Thought about it.

Thought about it.

I don't think Verisign are too keen to share the limelight in this auction with names that are cheaper and better than most of what Verisign are offering.

Isn't that the point though?

At present, I find the Verisign pool a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality which is why I suggested that Sedo might like to cherry pick the best of the NP names to strengthen the Verisign pool.

As it is an auction, the concept of 'cheaper' doesn't really apply. As relates to 'better', if the best of namepros' names are grouped with Verisign's offerings it will just look to a buyer that there are better names in the pool - they don't care where they come from, and presumably better names means more buzz around the auction benefiting Verisign.

Otherwise for namepros members to auction names at the same time (in competition with Verisign) may risk diluting Verisign's results, which I can't see helping .tv at all (but, I concede could benefit some indivdual sellers, and therefore I have no objection to the idea).

Failing that maybe Namepros could do a special auction of again, say, $100 cherry picked names rather than everything that everybody is trying to get rid of. We could appoint a panel to select the best names from a pool. Personally I favour quality over quantity (better for .tv as a whole) and removing premium renewal names from the mix (to avoid the confuision which has been dogging the tld for too long). In addition, maybe verisign would agree to waive the premium renewal fees for names accepted into their auction in return for the benefit that will flow to them from the publicity surrounding the sales.

I don't have any contacts at Sedo or Enom so this is just speculation...

Good luck, I don't see why Verisign would want others names in the auction.

It would appear that it would defeat their purpose...

I still see us piggybacking on the auction at sedo is a better idea than having it here. Much better.

DotTVFan,

Yeah that is an awesome idea, but like the others say,
I am not sure they would be happy with some of NP's domains in there outshining some of theirs.

I dont have any pull over there but by all means if you do, feel free to try it.
I just think, why would they want to promote our domains for free...
Less money for them.

I am just hoping we can have quite a few at auction at the same time,
and who knows...maybe some of that new money, newly interested .tv fans will come on over and find better value in some of ours???

I don't think I have ever seen more than 8 or so .tv's being auctioned at the same time over @ Sedo.
What I would like to see is double or triple that number during their .tv Premium auction.

I think we could do it if everyone found one from that massive list to kick off, ya know?

I tried to get Instructor.tv into their .TV auction, with a reserve of 6K, just to see if they would accept one, but they would not do it.

There are currently 9.tv auctions on Sedo.

I anticipate that it will be more commonplace to see a constant stream of .tv auctions.

The market has been revitalized for sure!
