Found on eBay. Top in Google. What should I bid?

Hello,

I was browsing ebay for domains, like I do every so often, and came across a new domain that's making some interesting claims.

First, the domain is megacollege.com

Second, the ebay listing (which I'll try to include below) says that that domain has a #1 listing in google. I searched for a few things - and it didn't come up. The only time I could get it to come up was when I typed in megacollege. Then it was 1st.

Third, the guy says he's making thousands of dollar from the domain (even showing himself holding a check) - but I went to megacollege.com - and there's no product there. I'm guessing he took it down before putting it on ebay, since ebay doesn't like websites to be "live" and taking orders when they're being listing. But I don't know what I'd put there to make money. Maybe a college grant affiliate program.

I'm just wondering if anyone here thinks this is a good investment - and what's the most I should bid/pay for this domain. If it's getting traffic and making sales, it might be worth it. I just need some feedback.

I just saw this auction also, but IMO this is a hype.

I maybe wrong, but......

1) No current website available - so what should spiders crawl for to set you on No1 ? On google it is no 4 just due to the domain name.
2) The seller says "On my first paycheck, I received a check over 800 dollars.
On my second paycheck which I received today was over 2400 dollars.
On my third paycheck which will come in the middle of July will be over 5000 dollars"
--> On clickbank with a non existing website and 0 affiliate links - LOL
3) Look what this seller is selling normally !
4) Nearly 0 link popularity
5) Domain created on 07-Mar-2005
and so much more ......

I stongly beleive, that you should not enter this acuction untill you really like the domain itself.

My appraisal: 25 USD max.

PS:
If the domain would bring that ROI he claims, he wouldnt sell it

I have asked him about proof of this "megamoney" but he didnt respond so far

If it doesnt have good Ranking For "mega college" Don't worry about buying it
It is easy to get Top Ranking For "Megacollege" if the name is MegaCollege.com But a lot harder to get a Ranking for Keywords

This guy is a 26 carat scammer.

Look at the facts....
In the pic, the cheque is blurred. Bidding starts at $0.01 and the domain ONLY comes number one for MEGACOLLEGE which is no surprise.

I'm certainly not supporting the auction but I figured I'd chime in and mention that I have roughly 4 websites that have been up around 6-7 months, are listed in the search engines, ranked by Alexa, etc. but still show no history in the archive.

There is a 6-12 month lag between the date a site is crawled and the date it appears in the archive...

You are bidding on an amazing domain name. Type in megacollege in Google and you will see that it is PageRanked #1.

Ahh, that may mean it has a google PAGERANK of number one, and that isn't very good

Oh, and also he says the only keyword he searched that he got a number i rank in google is the domain name with out the estension . Don't trust him i say lol

Exacly. Who will even typ ein megacollege. What is megacollege or even mega college? Nothing. OVT tool shows 0 searches last month.

And I laughed violently for 33 minutes after I read...
