eBay will always err on the side of the biggest fee... :cy:

The domain name category at eBay is becoming a real thieves market.
I wouldn't doubt it if eBay modified or totally got out of domain names, but, alas, eBay may be the biggest thief of all.

Yeah, but that's just the way big business operate.

True, but after a bit, you'd think someone with a conscience would realize there's money to be made ethically as well.

Unfortunantly, that's not the case. If those people saw how easy it was to scam, what would push them to sell ethically, if it would take longer, harder, and require more effort?

Seems we also have one here a NP who wants to profit from the death and destruction.

It's twice as bad now with the .10 cent listing fees - .Info's Listed jumped by 1000% ~
Domain names Category itself jumped +/- 60 % ~

It's one thing to write an "Eye Catching" Ad ~ It's Completely another thing what most folks are doing on there ....

The Poker.com and bet.com are accecented.... It didn't take me a second to notice it how can anyone miss it? No one is going to mistake it for the non accecented. But I'm glad one of those IndianTsunami's was closed off ebay.

Atleast on the first domain they are giving half to the American Red Cross. Though it's not much help cause it's not in America...

American Red Cross works internationally as well, tho a large percentage of each donation goes to "upkeep".. I'd never donate significant amounts to them IMO.

Should drop some emails to Sprint and Microsoft.

I've already contacted Sprint Communications and Microsoft Corporation to make them aware of the individual. We'll see how long it is before the whois information reflects them. I've reported several individuals over the past few days to the appropriate companies. If eBay won't do nothing, then I will.

It amazes me by all the fools on eBay and elsewhere who register company trademarked names and then think they are going to strike it rich by the company buying the domain from them. A company that owns a trademark on the name doesn't have to buy it, all they have to do is have their legal team fire an email to the fool or file a complaint and it will be granted to them. :gl: :talk:

Perhaps not quite that easy and there can be extenuating circumstances...

I myself have registered trademarked domains in the past, not realizing it at the time.

There can be exceptions to trademarked names, however when someone states that the company will pay millions for the domain then I don't really think that's acting in good faith. That's in bad faith and for the sole purpose to make a profit off of the company name and brand in the case of the SprintCustomerService.com domain.

True.. provided they are truly unaware that these names cannot be sold as they suggest. After working tech support for a few years, you'll find that your appreciation for the average human intelligence goes down several notches. ;)

I think he must be referring to "DreamMaster". Just came across the thread in the marketplace forum. Pretty pathetic business practice trying to cash in on the death of so many victims. :|

Yeah, but that's just the way big business operate.
And all we are is just another brick in the wall. Businesses are created and managed by people.

If those people saw how easy it was to scam, what would push them to sell ethically, if it would take longer, harder, and require more effort?
There are all kinds of people out there.
A pedestrian gets hit by a car and is laying on the curbside, unconscious.
One passerby continues walking, picking up the pace as he goes, because he doesnt't "have the time", or desire, to stop and become involved. Another stops, immediately begins flagging traffic around the accident, phones emergency, and sticks around to volunteer his help. A third passerby runs over to the accident victim and deftly lifts his wallet, rings, wristwatch and, then, quickly disappears. Coincidentally, all three individuals happen to work for the same company.
