I bumped into this article this morning and I felt a bit :| :td: :bah::-/ D-: :td: :yell:

They go around suing people who have similar names..and they allow it to be sold on their platform? When you list a name there you specifically accept and confirm your names is not violating any TM...:-/:-/:-/

I have never liked that market place as many websites for sale are fake and a high percentage of auctions are driven by seller who agree with bidders...but I think now they are getting a bit ridiculous..

What do you pros think about it?

Now Flippa just replied that if they knew about the listing they would have removed it...ARE THEY FOR REAL? They DON'T know or DON'T check what is actually listed on their platform????????

NOT A SERIOUS PLACE TO SELL OR BUY

Flippa @Flippa
@SaraCasari78 We didnโ€™t list the domain. Had we known about it the auction would have been pulled immediately.

thier reply...OMG

Yeah, I remember seeing Flippa.us quite awhile ago on there.

I assumed they knew about it.

Shows how much concern they have for a knock off extension :O

Their new reply is that the number of new listings per day forbids them to check them all!!!
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL..if they were Sedo or Afternic..maybe..

This is how a normal person would think:

Ok, guy wants to sell flippa.us, he will sell it on flippa or somewhere else, as flippa they might as well make some money off it, the fact is like most domains being opurchased nothing will be done with it that violates or upsets anything of flippa, they can get a simple letter out and get the name or shut things down.

props to flippa for thinking correctly, i doubt they didnt know, they are not sedo with a billion names

I think I must have taken one to many naive pills.

Had never used Flippa, saw there were some good .info sales, surprising prices for average names but I still got sucked in.

Listed a premium that has attracted 19 bids and still does not cover the costs of marketing upgrades. Subsequently looked at past sales and bidding and it's not too difficult to work out what has been going on!

My due diligence failed miserably and I think my pocket will feel pinch.

Se la vie, once bitten etc!

Well we all known how severe they are with someone who owns a domain similar to theirs and now they allow Flippa.us not only to remain in the current owners' hands but to be sold on their platform??????
And the only excuse they give is that they didn't know about the listing?
Well they must consider all their customers stupid ...who would believe it?

Let's not mention that listing a domain which is infringing a TM in whatever way is against their own rules! That marketplace is a farce.

What is scary is that somebody actually bought the domain. It was only $39 but it's a big liability

Floppa.

Won't have to look far for the buyers details, or maybe they will not be able to find them, just like the listing!

B-)

LMAO,
Of all the things , they did not even put in a crawler or something which would check if their own trademark was being put up for sale , leave alone anyone else's, while they did not realize hwat is happening, the whole world tweeted /messaged them , they just got dunked on by whoever sold it :D
