First results with Amazon after 5 days.

On one of my webpages, have had adsense on it earlier but 5 days ago I switched to Amazon (still kept the adsense layout in case..) . I put a lot of links in there and since you may tailor the ads from amazon in many ways I thought it just has to be better. This page, with adsense generated very little but probably because there are so few visitors. It is a well organized page with structured info and images and a oneword (product name) .org-domain but anyway, today I looked at my amazon "earnings" to see the first item shipped.
A couple of dollars, by a 4.35% conversion. Just a few dollars but probably more than what adsense, I have to check it out. I have another page with adsense, with a ctr over 10%, that has given more. I think I just have to swith to amazon on that page too, to see the results.

so how is it looking now after another week or so has passed? Are you happy with amazon? I lost my adsense login info so i want to try something new. Adsense only ever earned me pennies anyway.

Well, a glimpse of reality. I had some hits early on, just by luck I guess. But then... very poor. With adsense, a very good ctr. I put in amazon ads, both with textual and image ads in various ways to explore. Now I see, most (70-80%) clicks are on the text link ads. Therefore, I thought to remove all image ads and then rearrange the textual ads to look like the adsense format, of course while not using adsense at the same time.
I have niched pages, so I thought it would be great to provide amazon ads fully compatible to the content, compared to adsense. Yet adsense was better.
I think it has to be tried out in more ways to realize more of the mechanisms in this... desperately trying to earn a couple of bucks-business, well deserved after all content work.

interesting. Sometimes people say image ads work better, but i suppose it depends on where they appear in the page, what the products are, etc. I guess we never know until we try a few different things and see what works best. Best of luck to you!
