I registered these 4 names recently and was wondering what some people might think:

photosend.mobi
quickvids.mobi
pocketchat.mobi
pocketadult.mobi

Were these worth getting?

In my opinion, no. Right now there is no market for these kind of brandable .mobis.

My advice to anyone just getting into .mobi this late for investment reasons is to save the steep 2 year reg fee on hand regged names and buy a lll.mobi from a reseller or a true generic (unless you're going to develop what you reg). JMHO

Best of luck.

I'd ask for a refund.

I suggest reading various resources (i.e. Harvard Business Review, Red Herring, MicroPersuasion.com) to glean future societal trends coupled with soaking up everything in DNJournal.com.

Arm yourself with knowledge and go for the kill.

Good Luck.

Thanks! I'll learn from my mistake and hopefully unload these at reg fee at some point. Rep added to both of you.

i guess i have to jump in here with my 2 cents ... i think the value of almost any name of the mobile net is up in the air (with the obvious exceptions of things like flowers, weather, sports scores, air tickets, stock quotes etc) because we have no idea how .mobi will shake out

right now less than 20% of people with internet capable phones use them to access the internet, will .mobi change that ? maybe ? maybe it'll change in spite of .mobi

i'd say they are good names if you can think up a good reason why: 10's of thousands or more people would come to your site on a regular basis to retrieve information they find useful, keeping in mind that your site will be a screen roughly 2 inches square on which you will have a home page consisting of 7 lines of text and maybe a couple of tiny graphics and keeping in mind that most people will still prefer to do the vast majority of web-surfing on their home computers where .mobi will be essentially invisible

if people learn to love really small videos of fast-breaking news maybe quickvids will become the next youtube, remember 2 years ago, not only had youtube not been invented, it hadn't even been thought about as a viable web site

flooring -- ebola -- menopause -- pancreas -- peanuts and nitrogen are all names on the "premium" .mobi names list ... maybe you can explain to me how people are going to develop viable websites based around these words

viable = useful, returnable, to people who are traveling and accessing the internet on very tiny screens where typing, even at best is very difficult and where graphics are very small and hard to see

i'd say, your names may be worth a million dollars, nobody knows, find a way to use them and get rich

I actually like pocketchat for some reason...could be a niche there someplace

Thanks nombre and dentalpro - rep added. When you see these .mobi domains going for such high prices its very tempting to try to get a piece of the action but sometimes this leads to unrealistic purchases that won't sell at all. I think I'm going to try to develop a single one of these .mobis and try my best to get rid of the rest. Thanks for your advice everyone.

I think there all good names with potential for sales above reg fee later on. I'd hold on to them for now and follow the above advice as well.

Have a great new year!
