Hi guys,
Just to let you know that if you buy a domain from someone who has the name registered at FASTHOSTS and change the contact info to yours, there is a mandatory 60 day lock. No option to opt-out....
So if there's less than 60 days left until expiry:
- Either arrange with the seller to agree to provide the auth code and forward transfer codes when received that are sent for example from Godaddy to them since their email will be on file.
(If it's not arranged.. some sellers tend to be less responsive/ disappear once they transfer the domain. Not the best policy.. but happens)
- Or be ready to pay around 10 British pounds to renew the domain if you put your whois info
So Far, one good thing with Fasthosts is that "usually" up to 30 days after expiry, you can still port out.. so technically if you have at least 31 days left until expiry, you might be ok
