I am thinking of trying https://www.efty.com/

I'm wondering if I can get some pros and cons from members.

I have almost 300 domains so these some of the items I would like to discuss before signing up.

1. Getting the information in via excel seems to be the best option, is that correct?

2. Do I have to transfer the domain to efty or just change nameservers?

3. If I only change name servers then I have added more work because I have to maintain dates and prices in efty plus watch my registrar.

4. They seem to be in bed with Escrow and the buy now function looks like it depends on that. Is there another way to do buy now? I have my own payment processing machine and I use it or bank transfers.

5. Are there any other costs other than the quoted monthly fee.

6. Even using the excel spread sheet it looks like an awful lot of work to get everything in when there are 300 domains involved. Is it worth the time and effort on top of information already supplied by my registrar?

7. Is there a similar service and how do their tools compare?

8. Uniregistry looks like it may have similar services and ultimately it would be easier to manage the domains right from the registrar but I'm not hot on paying a 15% commission on sales. Discuss Uniregistry advantages if any.

PLEASE NOTE: Stay on topic here because I don't want to clutter up this thread with bantering.

If you have any legitimate questions about Efty to add please continue the red numbering sequence with the next number starting at #9.

@NameOmnia I ended up making my own lander modeled after how I would like efty to look. It uses bigger logos and I decided to wait until that change comes.

I also wanted to use my own favicon and that was not possible with efty.

I will revisit them again in the near future.

Thanks; that Canadian hosting seems to kick a*ses

Your opening post is about Efty. I thought the thread was meant to be about Efty.

Now you are discussing your own landers on the Efty thread. I'm confused. Is this leading to something other than an Efty discussion?

I think it has been partially hijacked...:xf.smile::pirate::vulcan:

Nope, it is still about Efty... my intention is to use them, I simply tossed up a two page site to show my idea of it for me. It does not compete with efty and it is not available to anyone. It simply shows how I prefer the use of larger logo boxes and my own favicon.

I think the efty service is incredible, I have said that all along and I have said as efty matures I will probably be switching to it. Pretty simple.... I was asked what I am doing now and I answered... plain and simple.

Changed my vote from No - Have not used them and have no intention to try to Yes - Used them and am happy

Many improvements still required, I want to be able to customize everything.. Doron says they will completely redesign the web application in Q3 and Q4.

In Q1 next year, they will be focusing all development resources on the marketplace features again and add more customization etc

I'm so with you.... Efty has so many things going for it that a few tweaks here and there and they will probably lock it in for domainers.

My trial ran out and one of the things I found was an entry into the address bar brought you to the landing page for that URL which really did not match the look and feel of the main efty landing page. If you clicked on a url on the main landing page it kept the same look and feel and it my opinion was way nicer looking than a direct entry of one of my domains into the address bar.

I asked them if I could change that and they said I would have to redirect all my domains. No small task because I own hundreds. I would much prefer it kept the same theme across the board.

Don't know if that makes sense to everyone but it is the best way I could explain it.

Can the Efty user please tell me if the landing pages are customisable and if the images can be changed?

Yup, they have quite a few themes and you can upload your own picture.

Efty has been good. I've been using them for I believe around six months now. I've loved everything about it, mostly the tracking of expenses, sales, profit, etc.

There are a few things I would like to see added and from speaking with doron (he is very responsive), they look to be coming soon.

Custom pages (about us, blog, etc.)
Custom ordering of featured domains
Custom categories
Custom menu
Faster loads for landing pages
Just a bit more "Freedom" if you will, but I can understand why things are the way they are right now and for the price, you can't beat it... and best part of it all.... NO COMMISSIONS!!!

Pretty dis-tasteful man. This is a thread about efty and you come in advertising your competing site.

sorry my bad...just replying to her request for catch all traffic. efty may have that feature soon also...

I think the user is asking for pros and cons of efty system only so Im not going to reply to this thread due to past comments. I will say all systems out there have different pros and cons and after listening to hundreds of member feedback eveyone seems to have different priorities and requests and you need to focus on what most members are saying over and over. Im sure the efty founds will reply here soon.

Him.

Efty keeps track of everything too.
Even better than namesilo link manager, they have issues diplaying whc.ca names registrar

I love the google analytics integration efty has and i spent a lot of time deciding which way to go
To pay or not to pay.
Looking at your lander randall of name i sold you, choosing efty was the right decision and i dont mind paying $13cdn per month for what i get.

Love the landing pages but I do wish they would add the option of monthly payments like undeveloped.com

Hate the market place templates. They need to look a lot more professional like BrandBucket. Efty market place pages just look too amateurish <--- not sure if that's a word but you get the point.

Hi everyone, thanks for the continuing feedback. As most long term users know we constantly ship new features and make improvements based on popular request. The marketplace feature, in its current form, was launched one year ago and since then we added custom backgrounds, meta description, unlimited premium domains on the homepage, two new themes, About Us page and also integrated Payoneer and PayPal into the platform.

Currently, I would say the remaining most popular requests for the marketplace are:
  • Ability to change the order in which premium domain names are listed on the homepage
  • Custom (or an expansion of) categories
  • More custom pages (perhaps a blog)
Which basically boils down to more customization/freedom.

Currently, we're hard at work building a completely revamped version of the application itself. This new design will also include many minor bug fixes and some major improvements for adding, managing and editing a large number of domains (something which can be slightly cumbersome in the current app for large portfolio holders). Another thing that takes up a lot of our development resources at this moment is scaling the platform and making sure it can support the continuing growth of our user base (this will also translate into improved load times and overall performance). This is expected to roll out before NamesCon and then we will focus all development efforts again on improving the marketplace feature.

Appreciate the candid feedback. In all honesty, the look and feel has a lot to do with the Efty user his creative skills (or lack thereof). I've seen some fantastic looking marketplace over the last year but also some are truly horrific looking. Below are some examples of marketplaces from user's that I personally think look polished and quite professional.

http://www.namerockstar.com/ (Eustatius template)
http://www.dnbx.com/ (Borgen template)
http://www.vegandomainstore.com/ (Emma template)
http://www.namesagent.com/ (Sands template)

Have a great weekend everyone and please keep the feedback and suggestions coming.

I would imagine alot has to do with what the user creates. Those are great looking pages.

Reading through this page on the thread I have seen a mention of the "favicon".
Opening up those four pages, all of the "favicons" were identical. I could see someone wanting that custom for sure.

I would like to see a choice in the voting for "I may try them" or "thinking about trying them" rather than or perhaps along with "I will try them".
Perhaps that is in the thread somewhere and perhaps I missed it or don't remember when going through it before, I haven't tried but I can't say definitively yes or no on trying. Just wishywashy I guess.
