As with many members here, I keep on finding some interesting names and have bought more than I initially intended.
Was thinking about mobile internet usage, and came to the conclusion that "local" is the way to go. I had a look around at various names, and was delighted to find eclassifieds.mobi available.
A quick check with the mobi whois shows that classifieds.mobi is a Premium name held by the .mobi people. They also have also got freeclassifieds.mobi as another Premium. Apparently, the .mobi name Anuncios.mobi (Spanish for "Classifieds" or "Ads") was recently sold for $2,450.
As for eclassifieds, I did a search for the term on OVT and was suprised that it has reults of about 340.
Anyway, I regged the name, and want to start developing a classified ad site for the domain. However, which would be the best way to do this. Going back to the "local" part, there is no way that a user in the US is going to be interested in looking for cars for sale in Germany for example.
So, what suggestions do you have about how best to plan the development of the site. I was thinking about offering a menu where a user would first select the country that they are interested in looking for ads, and then proceed to the ad menus.
Or would it be worth having the ad categories first, and then you select which country you wish to view ads from ??
Hope that made some sense. I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions here with regards to the best way ( ie: user friendly ) that a site such as this should be developed.
