This is alot to read but is incredibly important and vital to the success of our precious Mobi names.
We have heard quite a few times over the past few months about developing our Mobi names, but this should not be overlooked at all! Development is the only way to success with these Mobi names or else .com will get our audience.
Yes, there are reserved names for companies that plan on developing their names, but that is only a tiny percentage of the names that have already been registered.
Think about it this way. Back in the mid 90s most people didn't know about domaining and the fortune it could bring if you had solid quality names. So *most people never thought much about buying too many .coms. Most of the people that bought .com names were the ones that actually wanted to develop a website for fun or for a business. It was like this until the early 2000s aswell. There was at least a decade of website development. Compared to today there was minimal hoarding going down for high quality names. There were only a fraction of the domainers playing the game.
That's why .com succeeded. Because there was content from development. People would type in something they wanted to look up in the url bar and it brought them to an exciting website with information that helped them out.
Now, at least 90% of the people that own Mobi names are domainers who plan on sitting on their names. If we all plan to park our pages our opportunity for MOBI becoming a success will fly right by us.
WE MUST DEVELOP OUR MOBI NAMES!
This is really the only way it will become successful. It already has .com competing against it that already has content. If people can't find what they want on .mobi they will switch to .com.
If you want to make money with parking at least do it some time after MOBI becomes a success. Build your websites now, eventually you can put adsense on them, and you will be golden. If you aren't happy with your earnings after the general public knows about MOBI then go back to parking your website. But for now the public needs content on these MOBI pages.
Please develop your websites. This is truly the only way Mobi will take off. We don't want a content less mobile internet. I have a ton of names but after thinking about all of this I am going to make it my priority to develop each and every one of them.
