As eBay has 10p listing day today, and I thought putting my domain names there to try my luck. But I don't really know the values, do you guys think its good to put a super high price, and write in the description that I accept offers (the listing price is for test only)? :) Thanks Thanks.

What I am doing with my auctions today is giving a general reseller price for the domains in a fixed price auction.

I have the "Best Offer" feature enabled for perspective offers if they so desire.

I wouldn't really do as you stated above, due to they would think that you wish an insane amount for the domain, when you would actually accept a reasonable price.

You can't "accept offers" from your listing on Ebay. You must list a specific price, or use the auction style listing where everyone can bid. Listing a mediocre domain for a high price won't get you anywhere unless your only goal is to generate traffic.

You can if it's a fixed priced auction..

From ebay:

Best Offer Feature
Best Offer is a feature available on Fixed Price format listings that allows buyers to make a price-based offer on item and if accepted, will close the listing immediately. Best Offer is available at no charge for buyers and sellers.

For sellers, listing an item using the Best Offer feature means:

You offer items with a starting price.

Buyers make offers when they visit the item listing.

The buyer submits what she thinks is a best offer.

The listing ends if you accept the Best Offer.

For Buyers

Purchase items without waiting -if your Best Offer is accepted by the seller, the item closes right away

No auction-style bidding.

The buyer submits what she thinks is a best offer.

Find items by clicking on the listing. You will see the Best Offer link (if accepted by the seller) directly below the buy-it-now button.

Insertion and Final Value Fees for online auction format listings are based on the starting price and ending price of the item

I use this feature in all of my fixed priced items, and they do not charge anything additional for this feature.

Right -- but I thought he was referring to just generally accepting offers to circumvent Ebay... he wrote "do you guys think its good to put a super high price, and write in the description that I accept offers (the listing price is for test only)"

Thank you so much, Steveh & Gene :) My domain names are all new registered, I don't really have to sell them right now. And it sucks that I cannot tell the values of my names, so I might just try to generate traffic, while if anyone interested in it, they would absolutely email me, I will state it in the description.

Great !! Thanks again, I will try "fixed price auction" then :)

I'd suggest that you post your domains in Namepros apprasials forum to get a general sense of your domains values.

That would give you a starting point at least.

Best of luck,

Stephen
