First forget most listing upgrades. Most are worthless except a photo, which for domain names can get a little strange (take a look at other people's auctions - what those women have to do with ?????.com, I will never know.) Perhaps a picture of a gift wrapped package??? Might not be worth the fee. Probably you would want a 7 day listing. Sunday early evening is the best time to end an auction, remember the different time zones.
So many domain listings do not explain the domain. I take a couple paragraphs to explain the value and use of the particular domain, and to explain domains and the transfer process in general. Be sure to say where the domain is registered.
"Featured listings" get more lookers but is generally not worth the money. "Buy it now" could be worth a try if you know how much something is worth - not usual in domains.
Big value names do sell on eBay but the lower value names are hit-and-miss. I would not start the bidding for less than I would take - there are a lot of names that get only one bidder. There are also a lot of names that sell for less than reg fee (and less than the cost of the listing) and lots and lots than do not sell at all. And at the end of it all there are 5 - 10% of the bidders who do not pay.
So try it if you want - a basic listing is not expensive, but do not get your hopes up.
