Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

Dynadot is an ICANN accredited domain name registrar and web host headquartered in San Mateo, California. Founded in 2002 by a software engineer, our primary focus is engineering and design excellence. Our custom written, state-of-the-art domain and hosting software is stable, fast, and easy to use. From humble beginnings, we have grown steadily and now are home to over 2.6 million domains.

Our goal is to provide our customers with world class registration and hosting services for a reasonable price. Most of our site is fully automated, allowing us to offer some of the lowest prices in the industry. At the same time we strive to provide excellent customer service, and helpful responses to all questions. If anything is not to your satisfaction, feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to resolve the situation.

We individually respond to every email we receive - no cut and paste responses. Customer service is handled by highly trained customer service representatives that work closely with our software engineers, so you are likely to get an intelligent response to your question.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I receive your Auction Highlights email weekly. I click on a bunch of the links and am met with the Cloudflare challenge for almost every one.

Show attachment 316496

I then end up with a browser that looks like this until I go and check every box:

Show attachment 316497

Sometimes, even after ticking the verification box I am asked to verify for a second time.

This is despite the fact that I am already logged into DD and the tabs are opening in the same browser window.

I find this incredibly frustrating (many extra clicks and a lot of extra waiting time while verification occurs), to the point that I am much less likely to follow those links to the auctions. Can you explain why this might be occurring? Do others have this happen?...
@Dynadot
Here's something interesting... when I come to your auctions via DotWeekly Domain Highlights (daily emails), I don't seem to meet the same Cloudflare challenge?!!!!

I'll take a look, shouldn't be sending that often. When you click the first link do you hit the CF and then open others, or open a bunch in rapid succession? I'm wondering if you just open the first and then click through the CF security, then open the other tabs if that'll work better (but if not let me know).

Hi Caleb,
I've tried both ways, but it doesn't make any difference whichever way I do it.

Once a BIN purchase has been paid for and payment verified, is there any difference in the process between a "Broker" listing and a "User Listings"?

Great to see Dynadot with a dedicated thread here—having a direct place for updates and feedback is helpful. Looking forward to hearing more about future product improvements and registrar features.

A bit, for that one it's a difference in source. User listings are (as you can imagine) listings from our users directly on the marketplace which they have to provide (if it's at Dynadot it's instantly pushed to your account, if it's an external listing the user needs to transfer).

The broker one is an Afternic/Sedo listing, so we're waiting on them to send the domain to us. If it's a fast transfer/Sedo MLS one it's usually within a day or so, but if not then it needs to be sent manually by the user through the respective broker which can take a lot longer. Can sometimes be cancelled as well if the respective brokerage service can't get ahold of the seller/seller no longer has it.

We do have Broker sales from our Brokerage team, but those behave much more similarly to our user listings and can be processed fairly quickly since we're dealing with both buyer and seller directly.

Thanks.

And what happens with a "Broker" listing that the name happens to be parked at Dynadot and uses its NS?

Usually processes pretty quick, but since it's being bought through Afternic/Sedo it still needs to be processed through them (but since the owner is a Dynadot customer our team can at least reach out to them directly to see if it can be expedited).

Is the seller contractually obligated to transfer a domain sold through a "Broker" listing?

I'm not asking whether that can be enforced or not. ;)

That's a good question, but probably more of an Afternic/Sedo one (since it's not coming from us we don't have a through line to the seller).

On our own listings we generally treat them as binding excepting edge cases like we discover the account was hijacked/names stolen/Payment fraud or something like that.

Good to see Dynadot opening a direct channel here. The renewal/delivery question around expiring auctions is a fair one, and clear policy there would help bidder confidence.

Update on Buy Lock:
Now Domains can be Listed and Sold on the Dynadot Marketplace as soon as they land in your account (from auctions or marketplace). There is still a 15 day transfer lock which we're not removing as that gives us at least some protection in case of Fraud/Stolen Domains Sold etc.

Also, Update on Installments:
We're now allowing installments up to 60 months (and past the expiration date). Buyer will pay renewal at checkout if installment timeline extends past the expiration date.
