Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

1. Fonts still cannot be edited, and there are no pictures, backgrounds, or links that can be inserted.
Can I ask why specifically you want Font options? I think we're planning on allowing photo edits as a testing phase but I think there's some concern that too much customizable options could lead to some...unsavoury photos on our landers with our name attached.
2. ''Easy Secure Transfers / Top Tier / 24/7 Service'' info - who the heck needs this super-important info right below the name?
We'll be moving this down towards the bottom of the page.
4. Still no CamelCase or better visibility on ''more'' names (''More from this seller'' section)
We actually should have CamelCase active, we're checking if there's a bug preventing it right now.
6. No SEO imprevements
Currently working on improving that!

The Dynadot chat is the same one as our regular site, but they can choose to talk with the owner right away if
A: The owner has it listed for 'make offer'
B: The buyer has an initial offer in mind.
Would you want every passer-by to have unfettered access to the seller without having to make an offer?

Just to let you know, CamelCase on the new landers is working fine for me.

I like the business-like look of the new landers. I think a big improvement.

While it is always nice to be able to tweak things, I agree with the sentiment you expressed that too much customization and ability to upload user images might create problems by a few unscrupulous users that could tarnish the Dynadot brand.

BTW I really like the clarity on the Lease-To-Own. The prospective buyer clicks the dot and it immediately shows exactly how many payments of how much.

Thanks for answering.

My idea for fonts was to allow users to change them - different fonts, sizes, and the ability to highlight certain words - just a very basic text editor. To me, the current text section doesn’t look very appealing. It might not offer a major improvement, but it could draw extra attention, to create a stronger desire to read.

Efty handled this problem quite well. The initial contact triggers an email to the buyer, which they must reply to before the request reaches the seller. A similar solution would be very useful.
Alternatively, there could at least be an option in the backend for sellers to handle bot filtering themselves - only for those who want it, of course. (Still, Efty’s approach is better).
I just think giving buyers the option to contact sellers directly (for those sellers who opt in) is an excellent feature, regardless of type of ''offer page''.

Now, about the LiveChat add-on - it's great to give the interested party the possibility to speak with someone directly. But the question is: how exactly will it work? For example, if someone contacts support and says, ''I am interested, but want a better price''- will the support team act like brokers, negotiating on behalf of the seller or buyer? Or will they simply pass the message along to the domain owner? What’s the the drill? )
Will we be able to see some logs - who contacted us, when, where, and for what purpose?
I think the whole buyer-seller communication is an important aspect that best to be thought carefully.

Thanks!

Also, lets get a toggle for the live chat and 'contact us' buttons (unless the contact button sends an email to me directly).

I want NO ONE handling my leads except me...that is why I've moved away from Godaddy/Afternic. Please let us know if the option to deactivate those contact features (assuming they do not come to me directly) will be available.

@Dynadot ,Namebright,Godaddy still have an edge over @Dynadot when it comes to whois contact display when a name expires. Until it gets to pending delete ,I think registrant information should remain on whois and not @Dynadot .This is for buyers to be able to reach registrant and not @Dynadot .

Why @Dynadot rushes to display their own whois information on day one of domain expiration still makes me wonder 🤔 .

The competition is heating up out there .

I guess technically once the name has expired you don't own it any more. DD or whatever registrar has paid for the next year but allows you to pay them back and retain the name.

I do not think they have paid for the name and expect me to pay them back 😃.They pray I let it expire so they put it to auction and get more rather than let me renew. Also they are getting more when they put their lander and get paid for clicks.

Also if that was the case ,why does Namebright and GD still show the whois contact of the owner .There is still time to pay and reactivate the name .And I have sold names this way even after a name expires.

I do not advise to let names expire but we all have different tactics. I renew names in batches, I do this intentionally as well ,just putting it out there ,why @Dynadot have their whois contact ,so any inquiries goes to them without informing owner when it is not yet in pending delete.

@Caleb Tweed, I see where the '3 balls -easy, top tier, 247' have been moved and the grammar was corrected...thank you.

Not too sure about the USD being added behind price (I'd rather see a comma where it is needed). I'm removing any payment plan number because it is too much clutter showing the cents, ie: 1526.36--they should round that number up or down.

Can't recall if I mentioned it or not earlier but the star/save name function is likely an attempt to get a visitor to start an account if they do not have one. This is an unnecessary step that could cost a sale...especially if they start cruising your site and have a chance to eyeball other names (think Godaddy here).

You have been an excellent person to interact with and more responsive than all the others and I hope the powers that be realize these little changes might not be in the best interest of the domain investor. Spaceship is getting close to having their landers finalized and it would make me so bummed to have to move my names again (4th time in 3 years).

PLEASE do what you can...at least let us toggle items on/off...I really felt I had found a home for my names both in registration and parking. I simply want to make sure my landers do not harvest my leads or redirect a type in visitor for any reason.

I suppose the Currency Symbol already denotes that, I'll see what design thinks.

I think the thought process was more giving an easy bookmark for the domain in case they want to come back to it, not dissuade them to looking elsewhere (as they'd have to make an account anyway if they wanted to buy the domain). I'll see if it's something we'd be willing to add to the toggles.

We're working on a few toggles already, which ones specifically did you want off? (My bad if that's been answered before, been cycling through a lot of requests on the new landers)

I'm prepping for a meeting but I'll get that together...just wanted to add that a longer/fixed payment plan would be awesome. The reducing time frame is too confusing. Thanks for the fast response!

The new landers have another issue with longer names:

Hello everyone.

I have a question for a representative of the registrar Dynadot. I need to split my domains between two accounts — one for my personal domains and another for the ones I use for work. Am I allowed to create a second account, and does this comply with your rules? I’ve read your policies, but couldn’t find a clear answer to my question.

If it’s not prohibited, what information should I provide in the second account for fields like first name, last name, address, country, and city? Should I enter the same details as in my first account? But wouldn’t that make the second account a duplicate of the first one? Is that allowed? I do have a different phone number and a separate email address. I’m just unsure how to proceed with the personal information.

Thank you in advance for your response.

If you have a Business Name for the second account, then I can't see that there would be an issue since the domains are held by 2 separate entities. One person can manage domains for many different entities.

I don't have a Business Name; I just want the domains for my personal blog and my sister's blog to be under one account, and the domains for the news site and the real estate site, which I also manage, to be under a different account.

Ah. I would guess that it is allowable to have two accounts with the same user details (their system will certainly allow it, since you can just sign up with a different username), but we'll need to await an official response from @Caleb Tweed

Hi @Caleb Tweed, If a domain has more than 15 characters (including .extension), then in the mobile view on landing pages the text does not fit on one line. Could you please fix this.
Still not fixed

Hello!

So it's no problem having two accounts for different purposes! As long as you're not doing anything against our TOS (like selling domains to yourself), then you'll have no issues running two accounts. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your response. However, I still don’t understand what information I should provide in the second account for the fields like first name, last name, country, and city. Should I enter the same details as in my first account? I have a different phone number and a separate email address. I also plan to make payments from the same PayPal account.

Just enter the correct details. If the alternate phone and email relate to the business (but still reach you as the person who is administering the domains) then use those.
