Hi,

Has anyone here tried Dynadot's Expired Domain Auction? If so, please share your experience.

I'm currently bidding on a couple of domains there, but as soon as I place a bid, I immediately get an email saying I was outbid by somebody. Unless there is some auto-bid feature that I don't know about, I'm not completely confident about bidding there.

Please advise...

Hi there!

It's likely that the other user has placed a higher proxy bid than you. Here is how proxy bidding works:

Most Expired Auctions start at $11.99. For example, .COM, .NET, .ORG, and others.

If bidder A places a bid of $20.00 for the domain, our system will start the bid at $11.99 and automatically bid up to $20.00 on his behalf.

When bidder B visits the auction, he will see the current bid price as $11.99. If bidder B decides to place a bid for $13.00, he will be outbid immediately by bidder A, and the new minimum bid will be $14.00. In order to outbid the first bidder, he would need to bid at least $20.01.

If bidder B places a bid for $20.00, which matches bidder A's maximum bid amount, then bidder A would still be the high bidder, but the new minimum bid would be $21.00.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Q: I immediately get an email saying I was outbid by somebody.

Answer: Yes, you are right. It is mean some set proxy bidding. If you like to win the domain then you need to put proxy bid. Like: Put your first bid with low then next put your hugest bid :)
