I backordered a domain using the dropcatch.com service

the domain was caught by them

suddenly they removed my backorder from history after they caught the domain i was the only bidder

Also they wrote ""Lost - Partner"" which is a new status its either caught - missed or auction

So be warned if they like your domain they will steal it from you !!!

i think in few days i will see the domain listed in hugedomains.com forsale

Shame on you Dropcatch i thought its an honest service like NameJet.com

not only they spy on you they will take your domain if they like it

there was zero backorder on this domain and i added my backorder 5 minutes before dead time

never give this company your hard searched names again they will stole it from you

Very unprofessional company will never use again

I have same problem 5-6 times. If they like your domain, they give it to hugedomains.com

Dropcatch discount program is very very bad. They use your backorders for their partner. If you want to receive your backorder for under $59 you can use pheenix, dynadot. Dropcatch gives your backorder to hugedomains.

@nohbdyduzitbett

There was actually an error with the .ORG Registry (PIR) yesterday for all dropped domains on 09/11/2016. The registry is working on getting this fixed, and we have updated all .org backorders in DropCatch to not state "missed", they are just unknown at this point.

Essentially, the registry did not award the domains to the registrars, so we are unable to manage them. Once they get these domains placed with the proper registrars, we will be able to award them to customers and start auctions if necessary. I will update this thread when that happens, but we are simply waiting on PIR at this point.

Kudos to those that are on the ball (especially before DC itself commented) and wake up! to those that are not.

#1 reason to dislike retail sales: Victim mentality based in ignorance.

PIR has corrected this issue, and all domains were properly awarded. All .ORG domains that had a single backorder on them have been placed into each appropriate user's cart, and auctions for .ORG domains will last for 3 days from today. If there are any further questions regarding this, you may always reach us at [email protected].

Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Why don't you have bitcoin as payment?

Backorders placed through DropCatch are set up to prioritize our customers, which is why regular priced backorder always take priority over discount club and partner backorders, however the discount club backorders have last priority. This means that any regular or partner backorders are honored first. Additionally, all partner backorders are subject to the same cut off time as all standard and discount club backorders, and partners are not eligible to participate in auctions.

DropCatch does not provide any backorder information on domains, so you cannot know what domains were backorder through our platform by other users and this extends to partners. This is done to protect our customer’s backorder selections. Furthermore, we do not use your backorder data for any other purpose than attempting to capture the domain name for you. The partner backorder list is subject to the same time cut off and limitations as any other account, meaning they must have daily backorders submitted by 11:45 AM MST, and have no knowledge of any backorders placed by other users. Regular backorders always take priority over partner backorders and discount club backorders, and is a great tool to use if you really want the domain name.

The Discount Club is a widely utilized tool with in the DropCatch platform for securing domains for a variety of reasons, enabling you the ability to name your own price [$15-$58], to ensure you aren’t paying a penny more than you want to on that domain. For full priority information on our Discount Club back order, check out our blog!

I am sorry to hear you did not have a good first experience with us, however, we are always happy to work with users to the best of our abilities to ensure you are receiving the best experience you can, so please reach out in the future, and let us know what we can do better. While we may not be able to change how a current backorder turned out, we appreciate customer feedback! If you have any questions about regular or discount club backorders, we are happy to answer them for you!

Yesterday few of domains that I had in DropCatch Discount Club were caught by DropCatch and are now with HugeDomains. If I check WHOIS, it clearly says: "This domain was caught by DropCatch.com".
In my DC dashboard it dispalys "Lost - Partner" and when I click on the domain, a DC page comes up that says "This domain is currently available on HugeDomains.com".
But it's not there yet, I think it takes like 3-5 days or so.
My other domains that went though the same routine and were caught by DropCatch a week or so ago (still under "Lost - Partner" thing) are now with HugeDomains. Dispalyed there nicely and clearly.

This happens when you use their discount club. I don't use it there's no point anything of value huge domains with steal. The only way around this is to use other backorder services or fork out the 59 bucks for thier better service
Agreed. SnapNames did the same thing to me a few years ago

I've read their ToS and did read the post above.
Just wanted to remind it's ongoing thing.
And more importanly, that it's not the Partner these domains went to but to the same company, so they caught that for themself. People that don't know DropCatch/HugeDomains was the same company would think giving it to "partner" company would be fine. I think DropCatch should be more clear on this topic.
And not when questions are asked in here but inside DropCatch itself.
If it was clearly shown and stated you wouldn't get questions like urlulr was asking above, if huge domains owns drop catch.
Just my opinion.

Make a test during a few days with your shortlist to catch. 50 domains should be enough.
Count domains that goes to hd.

Then, order with dc during a few days your shortlist.
If there is a big difference between count of domains that goes to hd that mean they stole your work.

Why don't you have bitcoin as payment?
It is not a method of payment DropCatch accepts as a result of a business decision made for the platform.

Well, it could add revenue to the company if available.

Yup. hard to trust with the 2 hour delay. specially with most of the domain gets "pulled" by the partner.
http://prntscr.com/fdas8i. I've stopped using discount to backorder and i suggest others reading this to do the same. It's pointless, you're just getting dropcatch looking at your domain and thinking "hmm.. do i want to keep this domain"... and 9/10 times .....they do.
Interesting, is there consistently a 2 hour delay for discount backorders these days? Because dropcatch take 95% of my caught discount backorders for themselves I haven't really had the chance to spot a pattern. But full price backorders still appear in cart instantly after being caught. And I do remember recently I paid for a successful full price backorder (that was put in my cart instantly), only to be notified hours later that I also had a successful discount backorder (put in my cart hours after the drop).

Till a month back, if a discount backorder is placed on a domain and if it is caught by DC just for you, it would appear immediately in your cart after it was caught.

Nowadays, it appears not before 2 hours(apx).

Small difference in their approach, but reduces customers trust in them. Imo..

This is something we have identified and are working to resolve. While occasionally the drop lasting longer than expected may cause our processes to slow down we aim to deliver your domains captured to your account as soon as possible. If you ever have questions about backorders before they appear in your cart but after the drop, feel free to contact DropCatch support. We are happy to resolve any questions or concerns in the moment!

I am concerned about the number of re-auctions on your platform. I get these messages way too often:

Due to complications involving potentially fraudulent activity, one or more auctions you had participated in are being restarted. All participants of the original auction are being included automatically with their initial bid placed automatically. Please visit the Auctions page to view all currently active auctions and participate in these re-auctions.

Who knows how many times these "fraudulent bidders" have driven up prices for legit bidders, before they accidentally come out winning an auction (and get banned, leading to a re-auction) or get discovered by other means. There are far more re-auctions on dropcatch than on any other platform. Please address how you are dealing with this issue.

Say if you discover a fraudulent bidder, do you go back an refund the winning bidder in all the prior auctions where the fraudulent bidder was the second highest bidder? That fraudulent bidder may have driven up the price in a number of different auctions before getting discovered/banned, is this something you address in retrospect? Why are there so many re-auctions on your platform and what are you doing in scenarios such as the one I described?

I personally would like to know how much Huge Domains pay to catch a name on Dropcatch?

I just used DC to catch a domain today. Maybe they didn't want my domain that bad to keep it for themselves :-D They have almost 4 million other domains to worry about.

You mean Huge(r)Domains. They are now at 2.7 million domain names under management.

Not even a year later: HugeDomains crossed the 4 million domains under management threshold.

I won a few domains in the last 7 days via Discount backorder on DC!

i just google'd 'Hugedomains'... not even on the first page of google, LMFAO

if they have 4 million names - why do they have only 350k listed?

Search Results for ‘Enter Keyword or’

Over 350,000 total domains containing the words "Enter", "Keyword" or "or".

Third place in Google for me. Are you located in the US?

Obviously, their number is outdated, and not everything is for sale. PPC pays well when you own your own domain registrar.
