eh

I don't know where I am going, from owning 700 dot mobis to a much reduced portfolio today, evidently, I am not in a position to secure a living wage with any work in the event Dot Mobi ever becomes well known..

So, I may be venturing now into DigitalPoint forum techie haven towards finding a way still to make it remotely, and be "free"..

You made a risky gamble and lost. Good luck on your finances. Hopefully you learned a lesson from this.

How do you know he "lost?" Did he let most of the names drop? Did he sell them?

Yelo has stated his financial woes a number of times including this thread here. He bet heavily on Mobi and was an early believer.

You can ask him specifics if you want about what he did with all his names. I just know he has posted some rather bad news many times involving his mobi investments and personal financial situation. I tend not to pry beyond what he wants to post publically.

I just want to wish him luck recovering and hoping he learned something from this. I see too many domainers trying to enter the domain market without a clue and attempting to repeat the success of com with a new TLD. It's just not going to happen for the masses and you might as well invest with Madoff for all the risk it does involve.

I didn't care for dot mobi because we were building sites that autodetected mobile usage. We also didn't want to have to mess with another domain for the same site. It's a tough gamble but we weren't sold on the hype from the mobi people and the expensive cost that they put up as premum. Good luck.

hi

labrocca thanks for the personal response, I enjoy discussing with people more directly these days and appreciate the correspondence

yes, I think some of the most successful people in history have tried chances and failed more often than succeeded..

What I did here in all these posts i think was build a solid reputation, which i hope to hold for finding new work elsewhere..

with 3 billion phones currently without internet access, i wanted to try out and test my field of domaining to combine with the revolution..

one thing for sure is if you do nothing, then you won't reap the benefits at all..

domaining since 1999, it has been a dream wherby one owns exclusive rights to a property for relatively cheap.. i'd say about more than 90% of the people that come here end up leaving (domaining) or not making money in any extention.. like most fields in business chancing, this one has proven that you usually need alot of money to make alot of money (unless you have been among the lucky ones here)

the whole point though is not to look at the losses, but if you had gained one or two domains even that are very valuable then it in the larger picture can be a winning experience..

the gamble was made, for a very large payoff, and a small payoff was lost (but large to me); though, i have a couple domains that if dotmobi or dotcom website business venture takes off, it was very much all well worth the domaining experience plus i have had lotsa fun here at namepros and still plan on being here until i push enough to find work somewhere..

Also, it is far from over for judging on DotMobi.. like small penny stocks, u can win big when everyone else bypasses... look at whats going on still (branding), it may be like most domaining a long term hold, but still most phones don't have internet yet in the world of 6 billion people

will be blogging for finding work,

Yelo
