Domains Defy Christmas Sales Slump With Five 6-Figure Sales Closing This Week

The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. In contrast to retailers who are suffering through a dismal Christmas season domain sellers had a banner week with five names cracking the six-figure barrier. The first three names on our new Top 20 chart banked a total of $1 million. One of those sales ranks among the 12 biggest of 2008 and another is the 4th highest non .com global TLD sale.

I think FinancialAid.com was sold for a very good price must of been a enduser because i dont think any domainer would pay that .

FinancialAid.com was auctioned off in late September at Traffic New York. However no sale has taken place until the bidder pays for and receives the domain which just happened. Now you have a sale rather than a bid (bids are occasionally reneged on - people often forget that when they see auction results). The 800K was for two names FinancialAid.com and FinancialAide.com (a valuable and commonly used alternate spelling - Google treats them as identical - returning the same results for either spelling). Moniker said they were individually valued at 480K for Aid and 320K for Aide.
