.... Dynamite.com

The asking price for this domain name is $25,000,000.00 US plus escrow fees and applicable taxes. D-: + taxes !

It is no doubt a very very nice name but what do you think of the price ? - will it go with a BANG or a Fizzle ?

Anyone know of any others listed for sale with a higher price ?

I would say its worth about 5% of the asking price.

Very valuable, but not to that extent. Particularly since dynamite is largely being replaced by other plastic explosives and ammonium nitrate based explosives in most commercial applications. it might have more value as an adjective than as a commercial product name.

Nice name, but he must be really lucky to be able to find someone who's willing to pay that price.

If that domain gets $25 mil, sex.com should be worth at about $1 billion

yeah thats about what I was thinking, the lower end of that to a big corporation type end-user, it's a luvely brandable name that could be used for just about anything but branding takes alot more than a domain to make it work (usually).

I don't blame them for the escrow part. I think we've all had our share on non-paying newbs and that escrow fee would be pretty hefty, especially at, er, 25 million

But the taxes? Jesus Christ... If you're really that obsessed with money, set-up a dummy corp in the Caymans

Note to self: stay on AD's good side.

Just because someone lists it at a certain price doesn't mean it will sell for that. I'd say low $xxx, xxx.

I think the estimates that are being thrown around (Mid 6 figures) are over-estimates partly based on the extremely high asking price - so it appears that the owner's tactic has worked (At least in part). I would bet that at any auction service this wouldn't break $90k, much less mid 6 figures (Although I love being proved wrong).
But yeah, the +taxes +escrow just adds insult to injury to anyone who would otherwise be interested in the domain.
