It took me about 6 minutes to renew 3 domain names on godaddy today. I am not complaining that much, like oh no 5 minutes, but it adds up. It is just that they have added a lot of unnessecary clicks - 2 full page offers of stuff that I had to click a small "no thanks, let me renew my domain names" button, an offer for private domain name registration that I thought I had to click to check out, but it wanted me to set up a new account for it so I clicked back and found I could register without it, and it kept asking me if I wanted to register the .biz and .net extentions of the same names for a special price.
I am computer literate, but it was like they were trying to confuse me into buying something else, which doesn't work, but I can imagine customers 'accidentally' adding the extra features offered due to confusion. I respect domain registration sites more when they make it easier for me to do things instead of harder and I use them more. Funny too, Godaddy doesn't really advertise many internal sites, but they advertise themselves like crazy on their own site. But in my opinion they aren't a terrible registration site, they offer many great services, it is just bulky at this point and surfing their site is not as pleasant and easy of an experience as other domain sites. But everyone still uses Godaddy so everyone has to use it. :bah:
