I would like to bring to everyone's attention a conartist that is going around trying to rip people off by selling them domain names which he does not own nor have permission to sell.

I saw a thread here started by a guy that was selling the domain yeah.com. I emailed him and, well you can see what happened...

Hello,

Do you have yeah.com available for sale? I am interested in buying it
from you. How much do you need for it?

Thanks,

Pat

I'm sorry, but Escrow is not supported by our country.
I'm only capable to use paypal!
But, you could transfer 500$, then i send the domain, then you
transfer the rest of the money. Ok?

Greets,

You could never have called them as our phone number is not what is
displayed on the whois lookup. Please, do not lie to me like this
again.

If you are truly authorized to resell this domain it will not be a
problem doing this thru escrow.com.They accept all countries.

Q:Does Escrow.com handle international domain name transfers?
A:Yes. We offer online escrow services to countries outside the U.S.

If you are for real then you should have no problems doing this.

I am not lying. The owner of DigiMedia is not in right now, but the
secretary assured me that the domain is not for sale.

Either you are real, or you are a conartist.

I await your reply to my last two email.

Your reply will let me know which one you are, right away.

You told me 'I am reselling the domain!', yet on NamePros you state 'I
am Seijiu Karyaiama, techinchal administrator of digimedia.com!'

It appears that it is you that is the liar.

I'm going to have to make an example out of you.

You almost got me, but not quite.

There are two threads from this clown:
Yeah.com - For sale!
goglee.com!!! bemx.com & industry.cy.net

I noticed that Jeff locked both those threads, asking for clairfication from this guy that he's never going to get.

I also see that Jeff pointed out that these two questionable users have the same ip:

meinhold 62.249.190.67
Seijiu 62.249.190.67

I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. This asshat almost got me, but not quite.

For what it's worth - the IP is in Netherlands.

"Both" failed to reply to me in a timely manner - and given the potential gravity of the situation(s), I followed up with respective bannings after the noted thread locks and requests for clarifications, IMHO. :cy:

PS. MANY fellow NPr's PM'd me with all the corroborating proof that I needed, as well (which is a HUGE testament to our professional community, IMHO)! :gl:

Thanks for the post, and apologize for the inconvenience folks.

"asshat"

I keep seeing this term used around here lately, and I've never heard it before.

Was there a company somewhere that at one time, actually produced hats for one's ass?

Perhaps a cartoon that had a character wearing headwear on his derriere?

What does it mean? Where did it start? I must know the answer!

LMAO.

1. asshat
One who has their head up their ass. Thus wearing their ass as a hat. Asshat.

2. asshat
1. A hat worn by a drunken fool, or ass.

2. A foolish person, as one who would wear an asshat.

1. At the party, Jon made a fool of himself when he donned his asshat, the lampshade.

2. By bothering everyone at work, that asshat has made a real fool of himself.

As a note, I think that IP is a proxy, no?

If he was using a proxy, he should have made himself look like he was in Texas.

I did a traceroute and his ip resolves to 'bergen-sandsli-ctrl01.alfanett.no', which is Norway - the likely location of this would-be scammer.
