Have just received an email which is typical of the appraisal scam email varieties out there. The only problem is that it was not for one of my domains.....had some time to spare, thought it might be a new spin, send out an unregistered domain name, hoping I would register it and rush back and try and make a sale... we all know where it goes from there.

But no, the domain concerned was registered, so thats not the game. The sender had helpfully put a link to the domain in the email, which I didnt click, but examination of the link provided proved it actually does go to the domain named, so it isnt "a send you somewhere else" type ploy. The other option, which I am unable to check for a couple of days, is that the website has a payload of some sort awaiting an unsuspecting clicker. That is the real purpose of this post....be beware.....

I havent posted the domain name sent to me on purpose as it may belong to some unsuspecting person out there, or perhaps to someone on here.... have just checked the whois more closely, whois privacy is on, parked at sedo, registered a few days ago....mystery deepens or typical appraisal scam ploy gone wrong....

I suppose that another option is that the scammer has his/her database stuffed up, now wouldn't that be sweet......

I got an email the other day suggesting that I might like the domain TeaBagYourMates.com :|

The reason was "You might be interested because you own 'quiz your mates .com'"

Sigh...

Talk about a "that escalated quickly" scenario, lol :)
