Just been explaining the "appraisal scam" to a friend of mine and he says :

"good on them" [the scammers]

as

"any domain name investor who doesnt intend to develop is just a cybersquatting parasite who deserves everything they/we get"

Should you thump him or shall i...??

Dont have ago at me for this or anything. I think scams are bad but i do see his point. If someone really wants to develop a domain but cant cos someone is holding it to sell then that is really annoying. I really wanted gt3.org but this guy wont reply to my pm's and it was something i was going to develop.

About 1 year ago, I set up the ICCIA to track down such scammers. Project fell through due to lack of public support. Yes, thump him.

Thump him, Twice.

Scammers should be burnt - (Using Morphmasters Analogy - 'What do we do with Scammers? - BURN THEM!') Regardless of whether the owner of the domain(s) do not develop; its their decision.
