I'm coming to the conclusion that it would be better for me to do this, rather than ending up with a load of half completed sites. Of course I get the odd purchase enquiry, and then I have to decide if I want to abandon the "work in progress".

would really like to get in to renting domain space as some consistent income stream but don't know where to start.
I have rented domains before, but it hasn't always worked out, sometimes after a while the tenant gets lazy and assumes that s/he owns the domain and figures you cannot sell it to anyone else, since it has been off the market for so long, so to speak, or simply gets used to having it without laying out much money, and offers very little to buy it.
Better, are payment plans, where the price is set and buyer gets the domain after the final payment, or, if does not make all payments, you simply take the domain back. You allow them the full use of the domain immediately, and set nameservers however they like, but do not transfer title on the domain until/unless final payment.
Another option is lease with option to buy, where the purchase price is set. Somewhat like an automobile lease, with low payments and a residual.

I'm not sure about the rules for listing our own sites here - it seems to vary from board to board, and that is why I didn't post the link. It's also very embryonic, as I haven't done any of the css - it's just text and a few images. I wanted to work out the cross-linking and URL forwarding before I spent too much time on design.
