Some do. Most don't.

Of those that do, some do it much better (e.g., Dynadot) than others (e.g., Sedo), due to superior or inferior strategies:
  • Superior strategy example = TXT verification
  • Inferior strategy example = NXDOMAIN checks
For sellers, it's always best to manually remove the domain yourself.

You can either (1) contact each marketplace to have them remove it, or (2) you can add the domain to each marketplace, verify it in your account, and then delist it.

Good luck!

P.S. Someone should probably create a service to do this for buyers and sellers, for a small fee. 🤔

This tends to be more relevant for domain investors who actively resell names—though good luck pitching this expense to them. Most end users likely aren’t aware of these nuances, and to be fair, why should it matter to them?

Most domain sites don’t really notice when a domain gets sold,so it might still show up under the old owner. If that happens, you gotta message each site like Sedo,GoDaddy Auctions or Afternic and prove it’s yours now.Like with a WHOIS update or some transfer email. Some sites might let you just claim it yourself. It’s good to check your domains sometimes so there’s no mix-ups or scammy stuff
