I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

We have raised one feature for this, to have direct Remove button in one of the columns in 'Registrar' page. Our Dev team will see the possibility of adding that option which eliminates navigating to menu and remove domain

@Ala Dadan , can you please check the possibility of #73197 feature in ticketing system raised a UI change last week for easy Remove option as suggested by @golan

It is better to not show it... just cookie is enough...

Speaking about affid, such a linking structire would mean ~50% of visitors undelivered due to adblock (or, in the best case, not tracked). Replacing it with something neutral like " epik .com / blah-blah " where blah-blah is actually affiliate username would be better. After such a redirect, there should be cookie placed and another redirect to root index should happen. It can possibly be achieved on webserver config level (.htaccess - style "tricks": rewrite rules and the like)

Yes, this method is primary for most Affiliate Programs...

Tried out video.watchmask.com on a video and got the message "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." - was hoping to download the video.

Are there particular types of videos that cant be view/downloaded from Watchmask?

UPDATE: actually, any video I have tried to watch can not be watched - same message as above...

Sometimes you have to refresh the page for the video to show up, depending on how long the video is. I looked through the first several videos in the recents page and they all work on my end. Perhaps you can PM me which vid it was and I'll look to see that it was captured.

For those not aware what this is about, in the wake of growing censorship and surveillance of video consumption activity, we incubated a couple of projects:

- Watchmask.com is a SOCKS5 proxy which lets you watch videos without leaking IPv4 or IPv6, etc.

- Us.Tv is a PeerTube-based platform for video publishing

They are both part of what we have come to call Epik Labs, where we incubate solutions to what we see as being market gaps and then work with early adopter customers to bring them to full commercial maturity.

I believe you will be hearing more about Epik Labs in 2020 even though these projects are outside of the core domain business.

What is pretty notable about it is that it is giving us deep competency in hosting a broad range of websites which will be essential for two priority projects:

- CloudChase.com: This is already live and quickly sold out of initial capacity. A huge capacity increases comes online this week. It is Epik's answer to AWS but designed for mass adoption.

- Site Marketplace: This project is as-yet unnamed but is planned to be an integrated marketplace for buying and selling entire websites. The brand search is here.

In the meantime, if anyone is buying and selling entire websites, our Escrow platform is amply and perhaps uniquely equipped to manage such cases, including the ability to escrow domain, code and data.

I'm really impressed with the Chat service. Tend to talk to Raj often. He's a great guy and helped me with EPP codes today as I moved another batch of domains to Epik.

Question: When you forward a domain to another site, does the nameserver setting of the domain matter? Say, I leave the nameservers at Namesilo and forward my Epik domain to a site hosted on Godaddy. Is it no different from changing the nameservers to Epik nameservers?

For Forwarding to work, you have to use our name servers, e.g.

NS3.EPIK.COM
NS4.EPIK.COM

Now, from the domain manager page, is it possible to select multiple domains and apply the Afternic Nameserver domain profile to them? Received a spam a few hours after I registered a domain name from a "Matt Gordon" at "Domain Support US" ? Why? and more importantly, how? My information is private so how are they getting it? I receive many spams per newly registered domains, how come?

Check to see if the email is going to your email privacy proxy. If the domain is in fact using Epik privacy then your actual email is not even exposed for a second as it is in some other places that require you to decloak at some stage in the registration process. My guess is that the email is coming to your proxy email and that the spam filter let it through.

Very easy to follow instruction. Thanks. However, after I set up two domain profiles and applied them to some domains, the dashboard does not show me which domain profile is applied to which domain, which is necessary when I'm managing a lot of domains. In a broader sense, it would be wonderful if the dashboard can be customized.

Namesilo's domain manager has a sortable Portfolio column which is very useful.

Or, is there any way you can group domains on the dashboard? This would be a better option for me.

Nowadays (GDPR), spammers and scammers < (renew domain fraud) bots sniffing newly reg. domains @ registrars (or via registry data) and sending emails (via proxy servers) to privacy proxy email e.g. domain .com@ registrarprivacyproxy .com.

The name/s s.a. Matt Gordon at Domain Support US are carefully choose e.g. the name must be from the popular / well known person and the company names s.a. Domain Support US usually are followed with at least 1 active website dedicated to scam you > domainsupportus.com

Worst part was that I received same mail from domainsupport US for my own registration and someone else's registration. They are not so good it seems.
