Hello all,

I just read on the newspaper about a new browser launched by Microsoft to make easier browsing the web for mobiles.

Is it something .mobi is going to pay or what?

I would be 100% for .mobi if it dropped its already-archaic compliance rules.

looks similair to nokia, iphone -- the same central problem and you can detect it when they promote these. the problem is, the user already needs to be familiar with the site he or she is browsing -- which is why iphone demos use highly recognizable newspapers and msn dispalys their desktop browser for a demo -- the viewer is already aware of the page to some degree, at least enough to associate this directed zoom. when in reality, this is not the case for most all sites.

zoomable browsers are not taking off, because they lack a consistent experience. try these on sites with a decent sized tables. or on any cellphone screen.

the real central problem to .mobi is having enough searchable content.
lets see, how can they stimulate a much quicker development of sites?
( not just social networking/gaming or free sites )
the fact that visa just announced their support should help.
( the money driver must be in place)
companies such as google and other hardware/cell phone manufacturers that pledged their support need to start stepping forward, such as for auto-addressing. wait and see won 't do it.
