I am negotiating with someone on DAN and want to propose that they make an initial lump sum payment followed by 5 smaller payments

How does it work from a practical point of view? When I look at the Instalment options I can't see how to set this arrangement up

I don't think you can do this unless you contact the DAN guys directly.

I'm selling to Gemans for more than 20 years

there has never ever been an issue related to VAT

a German doesn't need instruction about VAT
and will be confused when he/she gets one

Totally agree.
I actually still don't understand why such advanced platform as Dan don't allow to create custom payment plans. Like Epik (excuse me for the sensitive word). Also, right now make offer only supports one-payment offers. Why not allow buyer to propose his desired payment plan right away? Maybe it will decrease the number of low ball offers because buyer will be able to offer an option that suits his budget best. Same with counter offers, why not allow to respond with custom payment plan?

I used DAN escrow service to close one of my sale finalized on NP & got paid for it today but to my surprise, the final amount received was short by $15. I had a quick word with them & they say any fees associated with your bank or an intermediary bank is covered by you. In this case, this $15 fee is either from your bank or an intermediary bank to process the payout.

I use transferwise borderless service to collect my payments & the transfer details clearly state Fee 0.00 USD.
Anyone else had a similar experience with DAN recently?

Just to add the deal was closed in USD & payment requested in US bank account.

Also just completed a transaction ($1785) using DAN escrow service.
The email notification does not reflect any bank charges. It reflects only the 5% deduction for their escrow service.
I'll crosscheck and update after receiving the money.

It's normal. Some bank transfer charges can be up to $50 or more per transaction - depending on the country/bank, based on my experience with transfers from several other payment processors.

I understand that part but this was a USD to USD transfer & the transaction details listed on transferwise state fee as NIL.
