Just wondering if any of you guys have built custom sites on why park. Is it possible to use an IDE (like dreamweaver) to add my custom content, or do I have to just edit the code? :gl:

GILSAN and all, here is PART II. This is the HTML that goes with the CSS I posted earlier. Steps to use this html.
1. Remove your Top and Bottom Ad codes in the Edit menu. We are adding the codes ourself (and not just 2, but all that are allowed by google).
2. Copy the html code into notepad.
3. Do a Replace of "pub-XXXX" with your publisher code.
4. Do Replace of "www.com" with your domain name.
5. Do a replace of "006400" to the hex value of the colors you are using for your header and footer in the CSS. This will match some of the adsense blocks to match your page. You can get color names vs hex codes at w3schoolsdotcom/tags/ref_colornames.asp. It is already setup to match the CSS I posted before.
6. Paste this code from notepad to page layout html block and enjoy.

Code below:

HTML:
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-XXXX";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
google_ad_type = "text_image";
google_ad_channel = "";
google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
google_color_link = "0000FF";
google_color_text = "000000";
google_color_url = "008000";

Hi nscoville, that's a very nice PART 2 lesson. Thought you might want to see the experiment. I'm still playing around with it and will try some more colour combinations. I made a few alterations, but I can't seem to find a way to leave a little space (padding) on the left on the 2 google ad format (728x15) as well as a little space to the right of "Articles list",

Here's what it looks like at the moment before I make more changes: www.DubaiLovesU.com

Thanks GIL

Find this section of code in your CSS and change the bolded auto to 2em and see if that helps.
The 728 ads can't get any space since the content area is also exactly 728 px wide. Looking good, once you get the hang of it, you can start to get fancy!

#menu {
width: 728px;
margin: -2.5em auto 1em auto;
}

I realize this has nothing to do with custom whypark pages but I hope you can answer this simple question for me.

I signed up last night at 11:00pm EST. Added about 20 domain names to whypark and changed the DNS's at 1and1.com to whyparks DNS.

My pages still come up as parked at 1and1.com. When I do this with Sedo, the changes take effect within a couple of minutes.

Did I do something wrong or does it take a while for it to show up as parked at whypark?

Thanks!

Change them to:

NS1.WhyPark.com
NS2.WhyPark.com

At least I've been doing like that without any problems. Don't forget that you may have to wait between a few hours to 1-2 days. Let us know

Yeap... That's the DNS that I changed it to.

I just went into my 1and1 control panel to check if I mispelled it or something. What's weird is now when I click on a domain that I changed the DNS on, it won't let me edit it. The edit DNS is greyed out!

I think something is wrong on 1and1's side. I might have to open a support ticket. :td:

Yeap... That's what I changed it to.

I just called 1and1 and they said that although it says "Domain Update Done", the actual changes can take up to 2 days. So... I guess I'll have to wait.

By the way.... Thanks for the prompt response! I hope you guys can give me a hand customizing my pages once they are on line. I'm a newbie when it comes to CSS and HTML editing.

If it is still not working, sometimes you need to clear your browser cache...

Kevin, if you are using 1and1, it's best to retain the 1&1 mail server for your mail services and just point your DNS to the whypark IP address. This way, you retain the 1&1 nameservers to still receive your mail, while all other services, like your site features, get pulled in from whypark. To do this... take a look at this snapshot.

WhyPark Status

How are most domainers doing with this service?

OK... everything is working now. I just had to wait for the DNS change to replicate. Thanks to everyone who responded.

I started playing around with the 13 domains that I setup with WhyPark. I must say, its pretty cool and very easy to use.

What are the chances of Google AdSense turning down my application? Has anyone experienced that before?

I used WhyPark to get my adsense account. I waited a few weeks before applying, though I've heard that some peaple applied after a few days at whyPark and were accepted.

Oh shoot... Maybe I should have waited a little while before I applied. It most likely would have increased my chances of approval. Since my luck stinks, I all but guarantee a denial. :(

If I am denied based on the one domain that I submitted can I resubmit with one of my other domain names?

I noticed that most of you guys have the "Powered by WhyPark" removed from your pages and "Build Content Rich Sites" takes its place.

I looked at the source code and saw a line of code that's different from the stock templates.

Can you guys explain how I can change this on my sites. I don't want Google Adsense to see a "Powered by WhyPark" link. Is it ok to take out any reference to WhyPark?

Thanks!!!

You have to sign up at clickbankdotcom, then you enter your clickbank number in your WhyPark account, then the link changes, and you get $50 if someone signs up for WhyPark using your link!

Question about customizing. If you customize and take out the [[mainbody]] part and the other tags. And incorporate the articles yourself directly on the site, what would be the easy way to add other pages? Meaning, if I am not using the whypark "add more pages", how do I add pages?

thanks

The templates get applied to every page on your domain, so you can't create pages without using the whypark add more pages method. When you add a page, the content on the add a page gets put in the place of the [MAIN BODY], so you want to leave that in your template. If you want to add only your articles, and nothing from Whypark, just change your keywords to "XXXXXXXXX" in the edit menu, and your page will show no Whypark content, only the "add a pages".

thanks, that was what I was thinking. Unfortunately, sometimes when you add pages through whypark you lose the structure of the page or it reatins the whypark feel. Maybe they'll add a feature in the future where you can manipulate this aspect more.

thanks

anyone have a suggestion on how to direct adsense to the right keywords for my site. Like for example: lvisas.com (an immigration site). all my articles seem to be immigration based, yet my ads are all selling japanese tea.

i'm hoping there going to add some more templates, there a bit too plain , i believe there ment to update the pages once a week , but all my sites seem to have the same articles on them from over 10 days ago...

Is it possible to choose articles of your choice from the available list on the Site Map page to appear in the landing page. For example:

Lets say I have 15 articles on the Home-page and 6 on the Related Articles. There are 4 articles that I don't like on the home-page and 1 that I don't like on the Related Articles. Is there a way of removing these unwanted articles and replacing them by better articles from the Site Map page, where I can have hundreds of articles to choose from?

Thanks GIL

I actually just emailed asking for information on referencing specific articles and operators/filters for the keyword list, I will share their answer when I get it.

Would be nice to be able to do that, as we could then change the articles around more frequently than what WhyPark does, giving the returning visitor new articles in the landing page.

Hope they reply soon as they are not very famous in the support department.

Keep us informed

Did you ever have anyone signup for Whypark through your site?

If I remove the <li>[[whypark]]</li> at the top of the page and the [[whypark]] at the bottom, will WhyPark still be able to feed my site articles?
