Hello Guys

I have some issues with the verification of my domains. I tried to add the TXT on namecheap but that didnt work because I couldn't find any info on what i have to add as HOST.

Now i pointed the dns to ns1.afternic.com and ns2.afternic.com. Will this be enough for the verification? Or do someone know what i have to enter as HOST on NameCheap to get through the verification process?

Thanks!

Did you try adding the ns3 as well? Afternic permits using the ns1/2 standard servers, combined with a ns3 that is a specific coding individual to your account. May be simpler than the txt method.

If the domain is still in another Afternic account, using only ns1 and ns2 will not move the domain to your account. You must include the third verification nameserver, or use the TXT record method, to accomplish that.

Am I Right that this would be under the domain settings > advanced dns > Add Nameserver > ns3. I get the error message "Please provide a valid IP address." when i try to add the ns3 which i copied from Afternic.

So i would have to change it back to NameCheap DNS in order to do that. But what do i need to add as HOST and TTL? Afternic only gives me the value of the TXT record.

host: @
TTL: automatic (or whatever is the default)

The simplest and fastest way is to add the third nameserver they tell you to use for verification. It's specific to your account. It's shown when they tell you that you need to verify the domain. Add the third nameserver, wait a minute or two, verify on Afternic, then remove the third nameserver after verification is complete.

For host, always enter @ (which means wildcard/all)

Domain, Nameservers, choose Custom DNS, then add ns1.afternic.com, ns2.afternic.com, press "Add nameserver" and add the verification nameserver you copied (verification-xxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.verify.hn), then save (green tick).

What are the advantages and disadvantages of keeping the NS3 listed?
And, without the NS3 (or txt), does the domain still qualify for the "verified" label on the marketplace.

The way the prominent "verified label" is presented on the marketplace does seem to make the domain listing appear more impressive and legit. However, it's unclear whether continued use of those additional verification elements is necessary for the label to remain there.

Is this mandatory? "Add your unique third nameserver (NS3) to the domain's records".
Why would I point DNS to a 3rd n/s if all my domains are also running websites? I don't want to mess up my website hosting. Is this done only for domains that are not websites? I am confused.

You can use the alternative Afternic verification method with TXT record.

Not sure what is going on here, but "all"*** my domains are already listed at Afternique. It once used to be a great community, but abandoned, shut down around Y2K. Then for several years it was nothingness. One day the new owners of Afternic, new owners I suppose (?), created a jerky website (Java?) that had an unprofessional vibe and feel to it. Thus I never took them seriously. This year, I suppose (?) Afternic was sold again? They created a light yet unattractive or at least an unimpressive website again. This time the site lacks the "jerky java", which is the only pro. It takes quite an effort to scroll the mostly blank site with lots of white space around a handful text and a couple of grafiques. Serving the "F" people, I guess. F-people are all the mobdicts, or cellphone addicts walking with their heads down, hands protruded with their mobfons held, losing their wallets easily to thieves at airports. Why? I once saw a mobdict sittng next to me at a flyport, with his wallet sticking out of his pocket. If I was a thief.... I gently knocqued on his should-R, and he ignored me, he was so immersed (embedded) into his mobfone. Just wanted to ask him WTII (the time). I personally carry no mobfon, no watch, no rings, I don't like anything hanging on my hands or neck. It's just me. I like to be free and independent from al the annรถyances. It's a great feeling nรถt to belรถng anywhere while you travel and not to be bรถthered by "melodies", "rings" or someone wanting to "find you" or "watch you" or track you down.

***/ I used to own many many more domains, but with costs and fees growing and economy being destroyed by cons and scams and fake terror events, I decided to get rid of ALL my unnecessary balast and expenses. And thus I got rid of all of my domains, except a couple important ones that my websites are run on. I got rid of anti-virus, home alarms, all the bills that were unnecessary and got myself a much simpler, safer, cheaper and higher quality, more natural life, in the outfront.

I'm OK with the new design for Afternic, but I miss "Description" or "Comments" field. I would like to mention that mopst of my domains for sale actually come with websites.

What if we retain the third Nameserver? Is it a hindrance while fructifying a transaction? Many Thanks and Regards.
