Ok, I just added a dozen or so freshly written and very informative articles to one of my sites.
I submitted the new sitemap to my G Webmaster Tools account, and submitted the articles to a coupla article submittal sites.

Nothing changed on my site stats at all.
No additional traffic or anythingc so here is my question.

If those articles were in the form of a Blog Post instead of just an article on the page, would that be better for my SEO.

I mean it's almost like doubling your articles since each Blog Post would have its own url, as opposed to just the page url.???

and one more question about "page slugs".
I have an option to submit "page slugs" on my sites thru my mini-site platform. I have never done that yet.
Does anyone here know anything about if those make a difference or not to your own developed sites?

Thanks in advance.
Vito

In my experience a sitemap does not do all that much for you, but it can be a good way to let google know which urls you prefer to be indexed if you have duplicate content (ex. a printable version of an article).

Producing content worth reading should be a practice you continue over a period of time. The biggest mistake would be to stop now because you didn't get a result yet.

I'll let others answer the other questions.

Thx for your time DV.

good point, about not stopping. I won't.
But since you put so much time, effort, and money into something ya wanna see some type of results immediately, at least I do, lol

I have to step away for a while but hopefully someone out there knows the answers to my questions.

Thanks,
Vito

Are the new pages indexed? If you do a search for a quoted string from an article does G find it?

If someone does a search for the keywords/phrases in your article does your page come up in the search results?

Until you have those things in place I don't know where additional traffic would come from.

I think that is not instant.
Once you submit the article - new page in the article directory is created, Then it should be indexed then all links what you left there should take effect. I think you need to be patient and wait

I think it is not difficult to rank on any keywords that have multiple words in it. Just build some backlinks anchored with that keyword and then you will get spoon fed traffic from google, just you need to find a good keyword that you think you will be able to compete other ppl well then choose it and start your campaign

I'm trying to figure out the original query.

What I understand is you have 10-12 articles on your website implemented and you submitted it on article directories as well. If so, then you will loose traffic coz all the traffic will go to article directories.

Also, there will be content duplication when you implement articles on site and syndicate the same content on article directories.

Your second query about having article in the form of blog post or just normal page. It is good to have article in the form of blog post as they get indexed by Google faster than a normal page.

Regarding Slug, these are used to write custom URI of your post.

Hope you find the answers of your questions.
