Confused over Whois information

Hi, I'm a little bit confused over this whois information:

Domain Status: On-hold (pending Delete)


Domain or IP Address Not Found


What does this actually mean? (the bits I've highlighted)
Has the domain been deleted and re-registered today? Ifso, why does it still say Pending Deletion? Is this a glitch? Is this domain still going to be deleted?

This is usually due to the fact that the registrar has taken over the name so it is no longer in the possession of the previous owner. The expiration date gets reset, even though it is no longer owned by a paying customer.

Actually, the name isn't ever "owned" and the Registered Name Holder - the person that paid for the registration - has EXCLUSIVE rights to renew the domain name during the grace period.

As far as the particular name you were looking at, you can use a "domain history" tool to find out who the actual Registered Name Holder is. Half the time the phone number is still good, so you can contact them to inquire about the domain name. If you can work out a price, tell them you will pay as soon as they renew it.
