Hello,
I am interested in a particular domain that should drop soon, and should not get much interest from others but I do not want to risk it and I want to use some dropcatcher for this.
The domain is apparently registered with Namecheap. Here is the info I got from domaintools:

ICANN Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Created: 2006-xx-xx
Expires: 2008-02-xx
Registrar Status: pendingDelete

Server Data
Blacklist Status: Clear
Domain Status: On-hold (redemption Period)

Whois Record

Registration Service Provided By: NameCheap.com
Contact:
Visit: http://www.namecheap.com/

The first thing I noticed was the Domain Status and Registrar Status fields have different info. I did a regular, command line whois and I got pending delete status , so I´m going to trust that instead.

The second thing: this domain was registered at Namecheap, who apparently used Enom as the registrar (that was before NC became ICANN accredited I guess)

I searched around and I saw that Namejet.com is the domain catcher for Enom.
My real question is:will this give them an advantage regarding this drop?

I assume
it is a com / pending delete

then check last updated part, it will drop 6 days after
to make sure
i would go to snapnames.com namejet.com pool.com
and download pending-delete list all of them -every date
check the domain if u find the domain listed all
then back order at snap/pool/nj no charge no catch

yes, namejet = enom (and namecheap is enom reseller, so the domain basically registered with enom)
they (namejet) have more chance in getting the domain when it drop
but, to be safe, backorder at snaps and pool too

Thanks everyone. I just placed the backorder at Snap and Namejet. I´ll join Pool too.
I´m hoping Namejet will pick this one up, since it´s much cheaper :)

It looks like it's dropping. Snap is usually better for catching drops, followed by Pool. Namejet no idea.

I just thought I would keep you all up to date on this.

I just logged in to my Namejet account and received a notice that my $29 initial bid was not enough, even though no one else is bidding for this domain.

I had to place a $69 minimum bid and apparently I´m back in the game, unless they decide again that (somehow) my bid is not high enough :|

The domain is set to be dropped on the 13th, let´s see if I get lucky.

I had a trademark but didn't have the .com due to a slight difference in when the trademark was filed and when the original domain holder acquired the name.

I waited for years for the original owner to give up on the domain. At one point he was asking 250K $ for it. I waited and waited. Finally I noticed that he was not going to renew it.

I went to snapname and purchased a snap on it. At the time you had to pay whether or not they got the name. Apparently now it is different.

I was sure I would get the domain.

Well come drop day I'm waiting for my email to arrive saying I got the domain. Nothing came. I checked the domain and blank company got it before snap. I guess their system is a lot faster than snap's.

I was very, very angry. I immediately contacted Blank Name to notify them the name was trademarked. No reply, contact again, no reply.

So I did some research on law suits and decided to file one Pro Se (myself without a lawyer). I carefully prepared about a 30 page lawsuit. Filed it.

Guess what. It couldn't be served since they would not acknowledge receipt of the lawsuit. After some more research I tried to have it served from the local police department. It still couldn't be served since they could not locate the owner (mind you now Blank Name had 200K domains).

On the third attempt I guess somebody in a mail room mistakenly signed the registered letter and finally now the lawsuit was legally served.

I was contacted by a very high power lawyer (nationally known) from Blank Name (he claims on his website that he has won hundreds of trademark domain name disputes) who tried to tell me my trademark was not valid and that they would fight my right to have the trademark. He knew he couldn't win that arguement though.

Finally the deadline was coming for them to file their response in court. They decided to give me the domain rather than fight it.

The short version... Snap is not that good and don't be surprised if they don't get it.

The domain dropped yesterday and Snapnames got it. I was pretty sure Namejet would get it since this was an Enom drop.
There were 7 bidders in Namejet and I´m only up against 2 in Snapnames, so I guess it´s better.

Now the only problem is that the auction ends on Friday around 2pm and I think I´m gonna be on a bus on a 6 hour trip around that time :|
I guess I´m gonna have to trust Snapname´s proxy bidding and hope I get it.

Yep, I was just notified that I got the domain!

I was worried because the auction was set to end yesterday at around 2pm (my local time) and I had to travel at 2:15pm and no internet access for about 6 hours.

I was in an auction with halvarez and fatjobbie. I then got really worried as I started searching around for these two users. Apparently fatjobbie is a big snapnames user and halvarez seems to be in every auction at snapnames.

The starting bid was $59, so I set my high bid at $354 and and just hoped for the best.

For some reason they didn't even bid on the name! I got the domain at $59 and I just logged in to see I got it. Since I was the first to bid on the domain I was the winner.

The domain is a LLLLLLL.com (7 letters) that means "lets eat" in Spanish. It used to be a site with recipes from what I could see at Archive.org
I think it's a pretty good domain for the site I have in mind, so $59 is a bargain.

Over all snapnames was pretty good. I like it's proxy bidding system better than Namejet's bidding system. I wouldn't have been able to get this domain at Namejet because I wasn't gonna be online for the auction.

This backordering thing is pretty addictive, I already have 2 other domains on backorder :p
