What is the easiest and cheapest way to limit your personal information on a whois lookup?

I have some sites on Godaddy and a few at namescout I bought at pool.com. Both seem to charge for the service, is there an easier and cheaper way?

Does anyone have ANY hints on this? It is really of concern to me and I would be greatly appreciative for any answers.

I see GoDaddy is the first of 2 registrars you are already dealing with.
If you purchase privacy individually for each domain you qwn, that would become expensive very quickly.
if you buy 5 or more, they will give you privacy for free.
here's the link...

And when you do purchase those 5 or more...
if you're REAL nice, they may just throw privacy on your previous domain purchases.
Good Luck,
Red Rock!

If you are looking to develop, i would consider 1and1, free privacy, profesional hosting.

Your WHOIS details must be valid, but here are a few legal ideas to protect your privacy without using domain registrar privacy services-

Get a local PO Box from the post office, cost ~$5 per mo.

Get a free voice mail number from something like k7.net, or spend a little and get a nearly free "Skype-in" phone number from Skype.

Use a business name along with a title instead of your personal name. If you notice most large companies don't have a person's name in the WHOIS (it usually says something like "Domain Manager" along with the company name).

Netfirms does free privacy and the first 5 domains are 5.95 each, but they have some quirks i don't like, no free push to other accounts for one, but for a site you intend to have a long time, it's worth it, I have 5 there now :|
