    Hello,
    I've just recently registered Holo/Bin...com.
Decided to check on Afternic to see if it was previously listed for sale that way I can have it deleted from their marketplace.
Surely enough it was listed so I sent afternic a message to have it removed.
This is not the first time I have to do this.
Just had to have one deleted from Uniregistry.
Do you always check your names to see if they were previously listed?
What would happen if someone hit a BIN on a previously listed name?
Do you check all the marketplaces to make sure they are not listed?

I wouldn't think you are obligated to sell the name if someone did hit BIN on a previously listed name.
It may not be set at the price you were wanting to sell it.
I would like to hear if you have any experience with someone trying to purchase your name that was previously listed and what was the outcome. Did you sell or not?
Maybe not even knowing your name was listed for sale and someone hit BIN.
    Thanks

If there is a thread already started on this sorry I could not find it. Please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

Nope. If the domain is not listed in YOUR afternic account, you are not obligated to sell at whatever BIN price it was listed at. Not even sure how /you/ can sell it as you'll not even receive the sale notification and hence how do you continue with the transfer and receive the funds?

The only concern I'd have and why it is a good practice to check the major marketplaces such as Sedo and Afternic for previous listings is that FT is not disabled for your domain due to a glitch (which Afternic is rife with) and so the domain fast transfers without your involvement at all. That'll create a royal mess and a lot of effort and trouble to recover the domain if you can even do that!

So if FT is set and me not knowing, it is very possible I could lose my name?

Theoritically it is possible and if it does happen it will be due to a glitch. I'm not aware of such an occurrence but if you really want to be certain, there are two options: Add the name to your marketplace account or reach out to the marketplace and your registrar and ensure that FT is disabled!

Make sure you have locked your name, and that you are not enrolled in a fast transfer programme with your registrar. I used to get stressed about being listed, and I even created a site to state that my names weren't available through their market. You can see the page here - No Afternic
Now I just put a button linking to that page if I create a landing site, and I look on it as free advertising. It's worth checking to see how much they couldn't sell it for as well.

The same thing applies to front runners as well.

    Thanks for your response.
So the main thing is making sure the name is locked and FT is disabled.

Yeah, I found it interesting to see what were the prices they were listed at also.
