Catching expiring domain best for domaining

I think catching expiring domain name is best for domaining.
1) they have age which seems to be important for sale
2) All the good name have been taken (esp in .com,net and org). And they are lots of good name in namejets. (ps:I like the 4l domains)

domain age is getting lost during drop catching, unless by "catching" you meant buying them in the forums like this one

I like expiring domains too. I'm now making lists of those domains every day.

If you get it during pre-release at registrar's drop-partner platform, you can get the domain with the age intact.

However if it gets passed that, and actually drops, then you sometimes have to question whether or not it's worth getting, given that it's been passed over by everyone.

Mind you there are always a couple that fly under the radar every now and then..
