.tv Can you offer me some advice please

Hi .TV folks,

I have recieved an offer on a .tv domain i own through sedo. the domain is brainy(.)tv, i realy like the name and think that it would be the perfect domain for a tutorial website, or quiz show, the offer is low $xxx (below $200).

What would you do if you were in this situation, should i counter offer (if yes then what would be a good figure) or should i stop being a lazy domainer and start sending out some end user emails to try and get a better offer.

If it were me, I would counter-offer at $500 and accept anything close to mid $xxx. No auction. If you succeed with a sale in that range, you are doing good.

Thanks Microguy, thats what i needed to hear. this is my first sedo offer and was not sure how high to counter offer.

Do any other experienced members have any thoughts on the $500 counter offer ?

Its a decent offer. Anything more is a bonus. Try for a bit more and take it, dont' be greedy

Agree, although I do like the name (it's kitschy!), at this present point in time anything mid $xxx or above is a fair deal for both the buyer and seller.

moonie, just one other thing to keep in mind, there's a fair chance that anyone placing the offer on a .tv may actually be a member here.... so filter advice you receive through your own good judgment.

I would counter back at $500 to $600 and wait to see what if they accept or come back at say $300 to $400. If you get that I would take the offer.
If you really like the name counter at $1500 if you would not mind losing a $300 to $400 sale. Names like thrillers.tv and tout.tv have recently sold for $500, this name is certainly on par with those names, but again each name is unique and it only takes one buyer.

It is an interesting name, but you need to think about the fact that .tv has many available cool sounding brandables, its not .com where the buyer has no quality one word choice in the available pool.

If you make the sale feel good about it. And no I am not a bidder on this name or any .tv at SEDO. Best of luck.

I would also counter with $500 & settle in between. Personally, I think anything over reg fee is a good deal for this name, but that's me.

yes agree with the above comments , counter without auction , let them know the name would be theirs , explain although many take it to auction i am offering straight forward sales for $ xxx

sedo auction has gone downhill to much $60 inventory to go through, broken down into 12-15 pages impossible to look through... taking a huge chance, you might get a bidding war between the high bidder and someone else, I just had a domain go through sedo auction 6 char .com price was $250 bidding war closed it at a lil over $500, 2 years ago I would have gotten $1,xxx but oh well.

Wouldn't send to auction, might be worth countering. Make sure you get a sale though, it is agood price, wouldn't have put any value on it personally.

Hi,
just a quick update, counter offer was made and low offer received back which I still believe is too low, correspondence was going well then buyer seems to disappear. Shame as I was hoping to pay off some of my student loans.

Am open to offers if anyone is interested.
