macaupoker.tv

Hope this is the right place for this question. I think I only have a few .tv names, so I want some imput from the .tv group about my domain.

Today I received a $120.00 offer for my macaupoker.tv domain. No way will I sell it for that amount. I set my minimum offer on some names in Sedo to about $100. So at least the interested party is showing some interest.

I now have to decide if I should give a counter offer and for how much or if I should send the name to auction. I have not been following values of the .tv ext, so not sure if bidding interest would push the name up within a few days at auction. I feel with some marketing effort the name can easily find a end user as Macau is red hot right now with gaming revenues surpassing all of Las Vegas.

I wish Sedo allowed us to know the bidder so I could do a little research about the buyer and have a feel for what size of company they are.

Two things weigh in here for me, is the online poker market for domains good or bad. Also macau.com sold for over $300,000 several years ago and the name I own is a strong keyword with high ppc., so I do not want to end up giving it away.

What would be a fair counter offer, and should I counter or send it to auction? Are .tv names doing good? What would you members do that have more experience with the .tv names.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
IMO I would counter with $900 and try to settle for at least $500. The name is nice, but not worth much more than $500 to $1,000, although I would not sell it for anything less than $500, in that case you should keep it in my opinion.

If .tv continues rising the name will of course be worth more in the future, but for now I would settle for at least $500 and reinvest (part of) the sale in new names.

Good luck :)

Nice advice Johntv

Imo macaupoker.com to be worth alot probably over $50,000. Because my name is a .tv, not much value?

Thanks for reply

I think right now you would be very lucky to get 500.

The market will tell you very fast, 7 days really, what it is worth. Let it go to auction for 120. If you don't get anymore bids, you will know what the fair market thinks it is worth.

Ill give you $300 for it, if you like. PM me if interested.

Interesting,
I just got an $300 offer for macautravel.info at sedo,
but it was not mine now, I sold it to a domainer few years before. (I forgot to delete it from my sedo listing).

I also received an $1k offer for one of my gambling-related .tvs -- holdem.tv (I definitely won't sell it at this price :P ).

I am not sure if these two offers are related to yours,
just FYI. :)

No wasnt me... to be honest keep anything to do with Macau, I go to the Casinos a lot there. Its already the biggest casino/gambling area in the world and Trump is currently building 6 casinos on the strip. THE BIGGEST guys are already there or building now...
I personally would hold onto them all, even disregard my bid if you like as I think its worth about 5k already... just keeping it honest here and trying to help. BUT, if you need the cash, Im waiting in the wings. :)

BTW, to the OP, I would put an add in some Asian news papers, maybe even the English ones like The Straits Times etc as this is an easy sell. Remember Asia is the biggest market in the world and all of the new money generation speak English and surf the net.

BTW regarding Macau or Macao = Macau was the Portuguese spelling and when it was handed back in 1999 to the Chinese, they changed the spelling to Macao, but many still use the portuguese spelling. Most maps are spelt Macau, but the actual Chinese translation to English is Macao.
Go get em!

macaupoker possible sale

Showbiz, thanks

I was pretty scared the name would not be seen by end users or many buyers if placed in aucton. You make good points though and now I am thinking auction is good to do.

BDM1,

thank you for your offer and your big jump up. You have the best offer so far. I will see what to do in the next day or so, accept offers, or auction. I cannot tell you how much I appreceiate your candor and honesty. Imo domainers are beginning to see Macau is the new cash cow.

Fleaking,

thats a decent offer you received for a .info. and thanks for your help.
I am going to change nameservers to Sedo and that way save some selling fees if I decide to auction it.

I have many of the best Macau names and Macao names as I was regging them before most did. I know they will be gold shortly, just did not know in relation to .coms how much value .tv has as I have not been very involved in the .tv forum here and really appreceiate all your ideas and help.

I can pm those who are interested in other Macau names.

macaupoker.tv, now in Sedo auction!

I have decided to place the name in the Sedo auction. I have been receiving many pms from members here wanting to bid on the domain. Thank you to all the members who gave me their views and the candor about the value.

I have decided to take a chance based on your views as I have little knowledge of the .tv extension.

The auction for macaupoker.tv is ending in (5) days on 6/17/07. Happy bidding to all who want to own a Macau poker keyword domain.

Again many thanks for the expert advice,

Roderick

Stoneroses,

I knew things would heat up for Macau names. I have many of them and hope some get seen by the buyer. That is a good name. Did you accept it?
