basically guys I just want to know do you think somebody would pay more than 1k for a domain that is more than 5l, not a dictionary word, and doesn't have any traffic or existing website. I just want to see how brilliant people in this forum is and please give me some examples of this action ( with a general explanation)

Uh-oh, I think we hyped up the short domains so much that this poor newbie is barely able to believe that any domain more than 5 letters can be worth more than 1k.

You can go to NameBio.com and see a history of reported domain sales of names over 5Ls and over 1k... just in the last week there have been several which fall under your conditions. I've sold several domains this year that didn't get 10 uniques a year, but still brought in $x,xxx. So the answer is a definite yes.

i just sold a 13 letter domain, it was a .tv, and was not a traffic name- for 1500.00- the name itself lends itself to success with development.

why are you trying to find out how brilliant everyone is

You need to understand something; Let's say 2 companies have the same acronym... LLEEARE for example. If these 2 companies REALLY wanted LLEEARE.com then they might get into a bidding war with one buying at $10,000.

Moral: ANY domain can sell for over $1,000 if there are buyers who want it.

That's just common sense in the domain industry.

I'm one of those "dictionary or less than 6 character" proponents (just see last line of my sig lol), but yes, many domains are non-dictionary words, greater than 5 characters in length, and still valuable.

One example that immediately popped into my mind was ZOOMER.com. To the best of my knowledge that isn't a dictionary word nor the name of a company (I didn't check USPTO.gov though) but I'd certainly be willing to pay $1K+ for it :)

nearly brilliant but not quite - probably could have gone to 1k with a little more negotiation

eedle [dot] com $900

actually, only 6 out of the top 20 names on dnjournal were under 6 letters and only about a dozen names out of the following hundred names over 2000.00 were 6 and under letters.
