I was thinking about Maple. I probably saw @MapleDots and the logo he has! Anyways I had thought of the tree and syrup when thinking about Maple. So I thought some more Maple. I thought Maple in a sense is like saying Canadian. I was curious about Canadian Girls. Anyways so I decided to give the Maple Girls a run for their money. Seems plenty brand able to me!

    Any thoughts?

In today's politically correct world I personally shy away from any gender based domains. The last thing I want as a business is to be on someone's twitter stream about whatever the flavor of the day is.

That way, you are enabling stupidity. When lunacy has no challenge, it runs amok

That is probably true, but I will let other people fight the lunacy, this way I can get on with selling domains.

Maple Girls is awesome! Good luck with it, I can see it as a name for a club or a team, or a product geared towards females. Although I don't see the connection between girls and maple syrup unless it was a girls-only club that goes tapping trees for the syrup or something.

Political correctness?? Twitter streams?? What a pile of hoey. Dear me, businesses need to get back to NOT CARING about the freaks who troll these feeds. People need embrace political incorrectness, because we are human and our differences are what separate us.

I don't know. I personally would not invest in it. I think the caveat @MapleDots gives should at least be considered. I looked at NameBio (as I am prone to do :xf.grin:) and scanned through the list of domain sales ending in girls. There are quite a few, which seem to divide into probably adult sites, ones promoting girl involvement (like GoScienceGirls) and ones that are essentially to promote games/torys/activities for girls. Definitely the trend is away from gender specific toys so I would not invest now in domains in the niche. I think you should only consider it if you have clear realistic list of potential end uses.

Keep in mind that was 2005. Social ideas have evolved. Anyway, I agree a case can be made, but still see some red flags, for reasons @MapleDots cited. Best wishes with it nonetheless.

It's truly insane - we all know there are a ton of unemployable psychotics out there madly typing all day on social media, yet businesses think, "Hey, let's blindly follow what these people (with all the free time) have to say!".

Same here, and I learned a long time ago that you can't fight insanity. You can't legislate it either.

That's why all these gun advocates in the US are going to have such a hard time, as the real problem is mental illness and isolation, and if you take away guns, they won't just go away. You need to start solving the core economic and societal problems leading to it, but that costs time and money. Instead the gov't closes more mental health centers.

There are still a lot of bombs and other violence in gun-control states, and not long ago, in either the UK or Australia I think, some guy on a pass walked into a store with a lead pipe and killed several people. In a video I saw a huge psychotic on drugs go into a fast food restaurant, and literally beat the crap out of the entire place with a metal chair.

So you are saying there's no correlation between the number of guns and the violence or death?

No, I am just saying you cannot legislate against insanity while curtailing resources assigned to cure or contain it. And there are far more direct correlations between it and poverty, mental health issues, drug use, crime, etc.

I'm far from a "gun fan" but I'm even less a fan of "easy answers".

Yes, guns don't kill people. People kill people. Every home should have a machine gun, right?

I am not sure how your logical construct here works. You have to legislate against guns. And you have to take care of resources needed for mental health issues and all health issues. You cannot postpone gun legislation until after all health issues are taken care of. Actually, the worse situation with mental health, the more need for stricter gun laws.

As it is now, many states don't do proper background checks, you can buy guns at gun shows without checks, and if you have not registered as official gun dealer, you can basically sell to anyone without any background check which makes the whole background check thing a joke.

Every home should have it, else, criminals will run rampage. In ancient time when Swords were the greatest weapon on war, every home and every real man has it. They were able to defend themselves against marauders.

It's pretty easy - mental health centers are being shut down, geographical poverty and lack of education are totally ignored, job losses are piling up, and drug use is rampant, yet "gun control" is being promoted as a panacea to violence.

    Good luck with that.

P.S. I'm done here, as it's gone full OT.

You've been brainwashed. The USA is one of the leading countries in the world for gun deaths. And it is by far the worst of all developed countries.
