I monitor the premium list several times a day and noticed that Business.tv has been sold. It could be a glitch because there were several other high dollar sales that moved off the list only to reappear a few days later.

But also noticed many $500-$1000 get scooped up within last 48 hours. There were several on the list that I wanted but have my eye on another name and my budget won't allow any other purchases. LOL.

I'll keep monitoring the Business.TV transaction and try to get verification from DemandMedia. But it is possible the name has sold if you take into consideration how many high dollar .tv have sold recently:

News.TV $250K
Movies.TV $250K
Cars.TV $100K

Business.TV at $500K is a steal and I'm hoping that a major media company has also realized this. Would love to see this gem developed and not parked... but to each his own.

Did anyone ever confirm news.tv sold for $250,000?
Ahead.tv shows $25,000 renewals.

Well lets try to get some clarification on these regs.

I really want to confirm the terms of news.tv and business.tv.

If names are being advertised for $500,000 and then going for other prices this just ads to the transparency issues, and IMO hurts all of our names.

Im not knocking being able to negotiate a price, I just wish we had more clarification on what these high value names go/went for.

well, it is saying:

business.TV is not available but check out similar available names below or continue searching for our other .TV domains

MW I believe you are not going to get that, if a domain shows the reg fee was $$$$$$ that domain may have been registered for less and you can check the renewal on ahead.tv. Demand Media is not going to give info out on other peoples domains.

Outside of domainer curiousity what busines is it of anyones if I regged Business.tv for $100,000 or $50,000 or $500,000 ? I do not see how that is anyones business. The renewal sure because I could try to sell. I think there should be no such thing as whois privacy before others can find out what others negotiated on a domain. Again IMO

Are you saying they should do away with who is privacy all together, or not make it something we have to pay for?

I think they should either not have it or not make us pay for it.

I understand what you are saying about it not really being anyones business, but to see a $500,000 name go to $25,000 renewal...I don't know...I'd like to think with all the money the .tv community has invested that we could get a little more information on some of these bigger deals. IMO it just ads to the transparency issues and the confusion of how to value .tv

On a side note, ahead.tv is not right all the time, there was a name the other night I saw which was listed as normal reg which I know was premium.

No what I was saying was I think knowing who the registrant is, is more important than what they paid. I agree with you it would be nice to know. The whole nonsensical way premiums are done is what screws everything up. Its unlike any other business. Not everyone knows you can negotiate down on a premium .tv

Correct MW

I have stated previously (and it did not receive any comment) that renewal pricing for Premiums on Ahead.tv is not accurate. I have a number of Premiums where the renewal price according to Ahead.tv is way off.

IMO, Ahead.tv does not use a feed from where ever, it uses an historic database.

Comment from the guys at Ahead.tv would be most welcome.

Business.TV added back to the "for sale" list. Perhaps someone simply hit BUY IT NOW and then realized what it actually cost. :)

It sounds more like a money pit to me. The amount of time it has been for sale and has not sold should be a clear indication that the market does not think this is "a steal".

Excuse me? You think I am trolling because I have a contrary view, then finish off your sentence with insults and foul language?

I come here to discuss domains, and that is my view of it. The extension is historically one that has produced poor returns for domainers and I think people should hear views on both sides of the fence.

What do you think, It is ok to make positive comments on this extension like business.tv supposedly being a steal at $500,000 per year renewal but making negative comments to the contray is a big no no?

Unless I have confused you with someone else, I have seen you post before, and your tone seems like it is more of a slam of the .tv market versus constructive criticism of premium fee's.

Everyone here has discussed the transparency issues in the premium fee's, but you seem different...

snoop definitely has a contrary view about .tv than most of us that and can be frustrating sometimes but he is definitely within the bounds of perfectly reasonable, sensible and polite conversation.

I don't see anything wrong at all with him saying business.tv at $500K / year is hardly the steal of the century. Whether or not you agree with this, this is not a troll comment. :)
