The reason I ask is, I have not seen many 5L sales in the last 3-6 months from BB lately and the only ones that have sold are aged 5Ls and I know you only deal with hand reg 5Ls and names that people drop so I know those aren't your sales.

Any thoughts on the new BB search algorithm? It seems to be just returning random names.

Maybe its a way to move some stale inventory.

I would honestly like to share with the community - but with this being my first BB sale, and it not being completed, I believe it's probably smart to keep the name private for the time being.

My advice would be to not purchase domains based on one that you saw that sold on BB. Just from looking through resources and the forum - it is apparent that BB sales a wide variety of names and there seems to be very little consistency in the types of names from day to day. I purchase my domains based upon what I determine it's value is, and how large I believe the end user pool to be. I also tend to lean towards keyword domains, if that helps any.

Wish I could share more right now! I will put some thought into rather or not I should disclose the name of this sale or future sales. I know the community is hungry for information and I tend to not mind being an open book.

Yes, you figured out what domain I sold. I actually would have told you at this point if you were curious - as the sale has been completed. I personally appreciate what you do collecting BB sales data, but I would recommend that you take a slightly less abrasive approach in your comments. (not referencing just this post but others as well.) You are doing something that I believe benefits the community but it seems like you are always out to catch people in something or prove how right you are. I am not sure of your motivations but I hope you take this comment as constructive criticism and not a personal attack.

I was not recommending for people to list domains that were similar to the domain that I recently sold. I was recommending they list the types of names that they believe that will sell.

Tech XO was a keyword based domain (in one of the best selling categories) with a unique ending that can mean love or communication. I do not believe that goes against my advice. As I said - I would *not* buy my names based purely off of what I have seen that has previously sold on BB. The fact that my domain ended in XO was not what should have been taken from that sale - it should be looked at as a "Tech" rooted keyword domain which has a unique suffix that worked well with that name.

I have been critical of BB in this and other threads, so it is only fair and right to give credit where credit is due.

I have got 2 sales with BB within past few weeks on the portfolio of about 56 names that have been there less than half a year in average.

Selling a brand name were multiple versions goes together as package has proven successful for some times. E.g brandbucket.com/pixano ( currently for sale) With this example the other extensions or variations of pixano does not need to be listed for sale on BB platform.

yea...i got one accepted arnd the same time time frame. thought my eyes where playing tricks on me while the other two still pending review. #fingers crossed

Only way I see both names will sell if a company wants to protect its brand. Otherwise I can't imagine 2 different company with names ana/lytiic and ana/lytiics and providing nearly same service. How will they market their name? their customers will surely get confused.

BB accept names that has even a slight chance of selling. Now if there are no chance of selling these both names then bb is surely accepting names for listing fees.

a lot of misspelled names currently published at BB where plural version is available for handreg. i.e- objectiives, academiics, adventtures, marginns etc etc. I never had a thought of registering these names for submitting to BB because that would be pure copycatting in my opinion.

(Also look at both names keyword and possible uses. both names are same kind yet one got only 7 keywords where other one got 15 keywords. this shows us how much it's necessary to have an option to add own keyword other than relying on BB editors).

I tend to avoid these kinds of mis-spelling as I do not see it as an advantage in a brand name. Although of course there are exceptions and some users on here are very good at getting it right.

I would always choose a correctly spelt two word name over a one word name with an extra letter in an odd place. But that is just me, there are current trends in these weird names and startups are using them.

I dont really like the ii hack in the name.There is more emphasis on the 'c' than it's on the 'i'

Also I think if one sells,the other would have same chances as before as long as the first name is not developed(or trademarked).And I support providing your own keywords should be an option.

The problem is, a brand name should enable you to stand out and be unique, speak your own language, set your own tone and communicate in a way that attracts customers to your business.

I think that they target different type of end users, some may like 'annalytic, but not analytiic' or the other way. It's possible to create a brand using a double letter, like 'fiverr', now it's a brand, but 'fiver', which should be the main one, was just bought for not loosing any traffic. 'Editorr' one which was sold lately by BB and now they are trying the create a brand out of it. 'humann' was sold for 40k by uniregistry, neogenis labs changing they name in humann, some nutritional stuff. I likes ome of the double letter names, because it's easier to create a brand around a name that means something for everybody, like 'musseum' for some art gallery, 'factorry' for some marketing agencies, 'networrk' for , internet or recruitment related agency, 'empirre' for some casino or some media group or tonicc, which was a real brand, related to some art application.
