"Pure brandables" is fuzzy expression for a fuzzy category. These names go from strong inherent meaning to weak inherent meaning (in a linguistic sense, not valuation wise).

I prefer the definition "abstract brandable" as it tells something of the nature of them. Naturally there would be a scale here aswell, where some border on the "keyword" category and some are so abstract that they almost carry no meaning.

I believe categorization may be some of the explanation for the 3:1--->1:1 transformation.

That, or there's been a sudden shift in customer preference.

IMO

PS. The pricing slider i s broken.
There's been a sudden change in preference all right-it's in BB's preference for listing fees-there's over 18,000 names on this site now and no ratio numbers (re previous inventory etc) coming from the company as of yet. Sellers aren't entitled to any financials on the company but they are-IMO-entitled to the ratio numbers-are they the same as when there were 2000 names etc. That's really not a lot to ask when sellers are investing their money like this. As I've said-if the ratios are the same as before it's really not an issue how many names they have in the inventory.

I am ignoring a lot of posts as of late. I would like to urge those that feel that these metadiscussions of limited relevance to "BB Experience" are unwanted to atleast not comment on them.

This is all I'll say about this, so please don't comment or reply to this post.

So what's everyone's feeling on the cost/benefit of BB now that there is a listing fee? I have ~5 strong $2k+ names that I can list with BB, but I'm debating if I should try an alternative platform with these instead to take advantage of no listing fee and lower commission.

Does anyone feel like BB should still be the go-to platform for brandable domains, even with the additional overhead of a listing fee?

I'm still confident for some reason. That could change. It will change frankly if I don't see sales.

You could try the names out a bit first for traffic/whois and obvious enduser targets before you decide to list them with BB or not.

I think most people are still bullish on BB -- it appears that submission rates haven't dropped precipitously since the fee was reinstated. That or everyone has a ton of credits sitting around still.

I'm guessing people are stacked with credit. Give it a month or so.

I can understand from last few pages, why Brandroot stopped accepting new sellers?

Complaints, Complaints, Complaints and very few positive reviews about BB here.

We had issues of waiting time in review - Resolved

We had issues about pending logo - Resolved

We had issues about transparency of sales - BB released their first Newsletter about sales breakdown.

Still many having lots of issues about BB,.

I wonder, Does BB still deserve these super negative reviews?

I almost unsubscribed this thread many times, but some factors (Member's sales report, Micheal's insights, some motivating posts) stopped from that.

In my view, BB is a great market place for me at least.

Thanks @michealjkrell for the release of first sales breakdown newsletter.

Agreed. Thank you @michealjkrell for sending out the newsletter today. It was very insightful and has definitely got me thinking about a few new industries to find names for.

I'm no longer bullish simply because it's been 8 months since I've had any sales from domains I listed there, also the domains that I did sell there were names used by the company before I even listed them on BB. I'm getting better sales off my own sites. Plus, after hearing about how they get so much repeat customers. I have decided that is my ultimate goal, to get my own repeat customers.

No sales in 8 months? May I ask how many names you have listed or had listed in the past? Thank you.

@michaeljkrell you previously said that pure brandables sold at a 3:1 rate versus keyword brandables. Was July an aberration?

I think that 3-1 ration may have been over a few months in the spring; I'm not sure when I mentioned that. More keyword names definitely sold in July than in May and June.

he pricing slider i s broken.

We are looking into it.

My god I am getting weak at this.

I used to have a 28% approval rate, but I had only 1 approved in my last 20 submissions ..only 5%.

I honestly think I'll quit.

Sorry -- I liked this post before I read the last sentence so I unliked it LOL. Sorry to hear you're thinking about quitting.

ahah.

Well my recent numbers for BB approval are a bit discouraging I must admit.
I still have 7 names pending review. I hope at least one will be considered.

I see BB as "fun" .. like a game. Getting a name approved makes me smile each time. I hope I'll see how a sale feels like one day. But seing all my names rejected lately kind of brought a shadow over my enthusiasm.

I just think of quitting .. :)

It's getting too expensive with no sales and listing fees so I understand where you're coming from.

Do you want to share the 19 rejected names?
