The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I chatted with Margot and she said they moved from Share A Sale because many complained and some bigger publishers would not deal with Share A Sale. I said I know people who have said CJ shaves on sales too, she said they will got to bat for publishers who feel they have not been credited for a sale from their site.

If the average fees they make are $600 off of $2,000 sale the publisher can earn $90 which is not bad if you can get a lot of traffic to the site and generate a few sales a month, or hopefully someone buys one of the five figure sales through your site, I think you can market specific names which is nice.

That is great. Should drive more traffic to our listings! It's a smart move for them to stay ahead of the competition too. I just checked Commission Junction and couldn't find them yet.

You'll actually find it under our parent company "Boxador Inc.". In addition to BrandBucket, you'll also find banners/content for our shopping cart software Wazala, and our appointment software Setster.

Cheers,
Margot

This was a hot thread not to long ago. Any updates on sales would be great.

the issue i have with bb site now is that they never seemingly update the sales page

i havent seen one new sale posted for months that i can tell.probably no sales then??

also bb why do u not have a link to sold domains? sure u have them listed at the end of all your domains posted but why dont u have a link on page 1 to the sold domains only instead of going to page 50 something to see them listed??

weird....

@VisionEdger

They don't have a separate sold section. Anytime a name sells on their site the sale is updated based on where that name was listed in the order that the name was posted. For instance if your name went live today and sold today that name would show up on the first page of the sold names because its marked based on the order it went live. If your name went live when BrandBucket first started years ago and sold today it would probably show up on the last page of the sold names because its marked based on the order of where and when it went live. Sounds confusing but its not to hard to figure out.

BrandBucket has so many names listed now that I am starting to think its not a good format to sell anymore on. The names just seem to get lost in the sea of massive amounts of similar brands. I have 23 there now so I'll leave them and hope for the best but I don't think I will submit anymore though. Time will tell.

thx for info but i guess my question should have been :

why dont they have a sold section that is just all sold domains instead of adding them at the end of their listings?

not very user friendly but i think its due to the low sales volume possibly cause they havent sold any new domains that ive seen in ages

they will take your $ to post etc but never seem to flaunt how many domains they sell

seems to be saturated with alot of useless domains as we all can see, may have to rethink that selling format
:hehe:

Can anyone confirm if Brandbucket does or does not list their own names on the site along with user submitted names?
A few weeks ago I submitted a bunch of names and only 1 was approved. Today I was looking through the site and was surprised to find another name matched almost perfectly using the same letters. The beginning and ending of the name were unchanged, the only difference being the letter 'i' in the middle of the name was replaced with an 'a'.

BB does not show a 'date listed' on their site, so I can't verify if it was there before or after my name was listed. I looked at the WhoIs page for that domain and noticed 2 things: the Registrar listed is NAMESILO (see Hookboxs post) and below the terms of use paragraph, Brandbucket is advertised.

I went through the first 7 pages of names at BB and checked all the whois records and out of 420 domains listed on the first 7 pages the ownership varies. Some people have around 20 listed, some 5, and some only 1 but out of the 420 listed a total of 170 are listed by individual owners with no privacy, and there are around 5 listed with "Domain by Proxy" privacy BUT the rest which is 245 domains are listed in privacy through NameSilo. I find this really odd that there are so many names listed on BB that are at NameSilo. I have never used NameSilo and find it pretty strange that so many of BB names are through NameSilo. Remember BB has 43 pages of names and this research is only on the first 7 pages so imagine how many names are listed that are through NameSilo if I researched the whole list. Who do you think really owns these names?

I reckon all brand selling sites evolved from owning a few brand domains themselves and trying to sell them. It's a great way of initially stocking their site.

A very large amount of their own names are listed on the site but that's how it is on every site. Every name is placed in the order it is listed so if its listed today its on page 1 except for featured names on the first page which could sit there for many months depending on how many times you renew the feature listing. Brand Bucket owns many names and some are not even listed on the site. Every once in a while you will see a blast of 15 or 20 names at one time and when the Whois is checked the majority are owned by Brand Bucket aka Boxador. They own the site so they make the rules and personally if it was my site I would absolutely list my own names also.

what is thee fee to have a domain featured on the home page if the domain is accepted?

what % commission do they take (15, 20, 30) on a sale?

Hi Brandon31

Fee is $50 for a featured listing

They take 30% commission + you have to pay for the logo out of your future earnings ($100-$500 depending on how much you want to pay).

Generally it, based on user feedback, still works out more profitable than what you would have got for it at a generic marketplace like Sedo.

What if name doesnt sell? How long do the list it?

Do you need to renew domain if it is expiring?

any stats please?

sedo/afternic/tdnam sales are (almost) all avail via dnsaleprice/namebio
what about BB?

30% + $10 for a listing + $100+ for a ($5) logo = who the hell told you BB would sell your Hyzuq.com faster/higher than olgood plain trusted/popular Sedo/DNS/GD/etc

do you seriously think BB/whatever has any secret source of end-users constantly buying "brandable" hand-reg domains at $2,000+?

Featured for 3 months. I was paying for one domain to be featured and a buyer has just been found.

I've not heard from the BB rep for a few days though, I hope they aren't taking an early Xmas vacation...

Why do you assume all domains on BB are "hand-regs"?

If you really think names like Epiq.com, Ecap.com, Pozer.com, Wodo.com, Embo.com or even a name like Okuno.com or Jumpsy.com can be hand registered these days you've got it wrong.

I have around 20 domains listed at BB and less than half of these we're hand registered by myself.

Imo 90% of domains on BB & NR are hand regs.
