It varies. It can oscillate from state to state. The most common states are {0,1,2,3,4} sales per day. Usually we can see jumps to state 0 but with low probability compared to 1,2,3 or 4.. Almost like a Markov chain.

Regardless of the current state at the end of the month we should expect avg of 80 domains sales per month. I can also see that the avg sales per month has slightly increased. But does not justify the 40K+ domains listed.

October 2016 there were about 73 sales.
November 2016 there were about 87 sales.
December 2016 there was about 100 sales. ( scratching my head on this one)

Technically speaking you're more than correct to say that they sell at least 1 domain per day.

If a company builds a business on meassure/com do you think there will loose traffic to measure/com?

Looks like a recent sale by Chief Krell.

The only way to truly know what are the most popular ending two letters would be to eliminate all real words first from the equation. The only reason Ycombinator and the -er suffix has so many is because there are so many names on the list that end in real words like, chatter, caster, meter, layer, better etc....

If you eliminate all endings that are from real words then you can see what trends there really are.

I also think you would have to see how much inventory each ending has because this would affect how many names would be sold. For instance if BrandBucket has 500 names ending in -ly and only 100 ending in -ra then that would change the amount of sales based purely off having more inventory to choose from of a particular suffix which would effect the final sales ratio.

The result was obtained by looking at what each venues has to say. So it's not based on one entity. This graphs aims to look at all brandable startup domains weather made up words or not.

I understand that but when dealing with real words the trend wouldn't be the ending it would be the actual word. This is why eliminating real words makes sense to find a real trend.

To me the trend is having real words ending in "er" in my domain that are compatible. Than hunting for all names ending in "ly". To anyone else it could mean the opposite.

    Response:
There is also a link to download the entire brandbucket's inventory.
You can use that and make your own analysis and share what you came up with.
That would be very helpful if you can do this. :)

Also there is more than one way of doing things.

There are thousands of words that end in -er but that doesn't mean they are all good for a company name. Would that mean that two word names ending in words like brassier, contriver, clumpier, freakier, partaker, etc.....are good names? No. This is why you have to base the trend on the word and not the ending unless it is a keyword with random 2 letter suffix or completely made up name.

Surely I am not disputing that. If you read the full blog post you will see where I mentioned that it doesn't mean all ending names in "er" are valuable as it get's more complicated than just that. The same applies for any other.

It depends how it's branded. Technically, this is a two worder (though the description doesn't mention it) it reads, Me Assure. ie a confident measurement.

Reading @Doron Vermaat 's top 100 brandable domain sales HERE, I noticed Meedia.com, a strong keyword with an emphasis on Me, sold for $17k.
FWIW: They are launching in 8 days, and claim to be the peoples content marketplace. That said, Meeasure.com is available for hand reg, and the buyer still went with MeAssure. As Measure doesn't emphasize the E.

    For example:

    VS
    upload_2017-1-7_2-14-23.png
    and
    upload_2017-1-7_2-14-54.png
    and
    upload_2017-1-7_2-22-25.png

In these four examples, generally you'd have an easier time getting away with rolling the ē in Mēdia, Crēate, and Mēter but not Measure. (If you tried to brand on Meeasure, you'd have to really emphasize the EE which could confuse the 'a' opposed to saying "Meassure with two S's" or "Me Assure"

Congrats. I see so many repeated "ii" such as biinder, fiixer, spiice, rhiino, uniify.. etc happening. But not yet ready to buy into it until I understand why it's a good idea to double the i.
