Introducing SMART Domain Monetization! - a smarter way to Monetize, Manage, and Sell domain names.

We are proud to present a refreshed (and "smart") BODIS with the future in mind and the ability to better Monetize, Manage, and Sell your domain names.

Take a glimpse at the new BODIS in this short video:

The new BODIS entails the following:

Smart Filters

Quickly and easily retrieve and recall the data points of interest. Filter by multiple date ranges, visits, revenue, and more.

Smart Dashboard / Widgets

All of the data points you want to see in one place. Customizable tiles that allow you to apply any search filter to see data of interest.

Domain Management

Smart Filters and Dashboard change the way you manage domains. Manage your domain portfolio by filtering or exporting domains by registrar, expiration date, and more

Extended List of Changes:
  • Smart Filters - Filter by multiple date ranges, visits, revenue, and more.
  • Smart Dashboard/Widgets - Customizable tiles that allow you to apply any search filter to see data of interest.
  • Domain Management features – Manage your domain portfolio by filtering or exporting domains by registrar, expiration date, and more
  • Apply Filter to any Data Breakdown – apply filter to any breakdown such as country, time period, referrer, terms, etc.
  • Full Referrer URL reporting – this was a much-requested feature. We’ve always shown referrer data but it would only be the site name. We now provide an option to see the entire referrer URL in the `Referrer` breakdown tab
  • Terms stats – see which terms are most clicked on, so you can manually optimize terms if you choose to.
  • G/Tier2 stats - Visits, Clicks, RPM, and Revenue broken out by G and Tier2 so you can see the performance difference of each upstream ad provider.
  • Message Center updated – better way to view messages/notifications as well as clear all unread messages.
  • Support upgrade – we now provide support via chat during certain hours of the day.
  • and more!
Find more info on our blog, here: https://www.bodis.com/blog/introducing-smart-domain-monetization/

Hope you guys enjoy the major update! A lot more is already being worked on, and we can't wait to have the next major update in the coming weeks and months!

Thanks @alcy

We try! We have more changes regarding actual parking pages coming!

As far a your question, the Terms history begins Jan 1 2020. Should be a note above the Reporting breakdown that states that. Perhaps we should make it more noticeable.

sorry my bad :)

couple more questions plz:

- does bodis automaticaly get all expiry dates from whois for all names? do you consider this to be basically 100% accurate or can we expect some errors in those dates? I know many other places or systems thst claim to get whois expiry dates, and most have flaws.
- can you briefly summarize if there are any changes in this update to actual sale settings or process? landers/banners or otherwise... or regarding sales, its basivcally unchanged for now?
- have yuo by chance implemented a public portfolio link, given the few new changes to portofolio managing.. viewing... like expiry dates... etc...

thanks :)

@matt_bodis - you did not test it well. I tried to add a new domain. Received an error - domain incorrect, or something... Used an old API instead - all worked.

Bodis should better also work on improving existing features. An example. Related keywords. If one copies some well-tested keywords from uni registry category-based lander (proven to work landers, where they use fixed keywords based on domain category and subcategory) - such as "Sci Fi" and "Alien Posters" for a domain related to Science Fiction (phantom Planet X in case/domain I'm referring to) - they will all be denied. Almost automatically. Yeah, I understand where it comes from. A few years ago, folks tried to use bodis parking to add mesothelioma lawyer and similar high paying kws everywhere, as you disclosed earlier @ NP. I never tried this, all my suggested keywords were manually selected and are really connected with the domain themes. For some domains from the batch, G already showed what I submitted (but, G had grammatical errors sometimes). Still not good for Bodis to approve! Not a big issue, I simply moved a few hundreds domains away - (domains where related kw sets were denied by Bodis, which happened to be 100% of what was submitted), as I had no time or interest to convinience Bodis team that I know what I'm doing... or that what Uni is doing on their landers is also OK. Posting it here not as a complaint, Bodis is good, but I'm using it now only for domains where no manual categorization is required. This is just to show where a real improvement may be needed. Thanks for the new upgrade though, looks good :) Please fix ADD DOMAINS bug.

Great questions!

-We get expiry dates from WHOIS once a month for domains that have 1 or more visits in last 90 days. We get this data directly as well as via third party WHOIS APIs in the case that we can't extract it directly. If you roll over the expiration date field, it should tell you when it was last updated for that particular domain. That reminds me, we should give you the option to also filter by when the date was last updated.
-Soon, we'll be able to provide expiry dates for all domains, even though that haven't been active in last 90 days.
-No updates to actual sale settings/process. That is unchanged. We are planning major major changes to that going forward. Mostly second half of this year.
-No public portfolio link yet, but that is a feature suggestion we've received many times and definitely part of the sales update we'll be making.

Thanks for the suggestions tonyk.

Apologies for the issues. We tried to test as much as we can but didn't test some of the unchanged functionality and it seems most issues are with that. We're working on resolving them and I'm sure by Monday 99% of all issues will be resolved. I already see our team pushing out fixes for such issues. Well noted, and we will do a better job next time around.

Existing functionality will be greatly improved. That is going to be a key area we'll spend time over the next few weeks as well. There will be a lot of filters added and existing functions improved within the UI over next days and weeks.

As far as the terms, we can do that but the issue there is any click on an irrelevant term where a visitor does not convert for an advertiser will drop the overall "smart pricing" to Bodis. And if that occurs, everyone on the platform will bit by bit earn less. And that is what we are trying to prevent from occuring. A lot of these other parking companies just don't know that that even exists.

As far as optimization in general, we declare 2020 the year of optimization. ;) So hopefully a lot of these names will be optimized without any work on your end. In the meantime, let's re-review the category term thing. I will reach out to my team and see if they can make an exception and/or adjust policies a bit.

Thanks

Hello @tonyk2000,

We do apologize for any bugs you've experienced, but we do expect to have them fully ironed out shortly. I believe the Add Domains bug was rectified last night. Could you please try refreshing your browser cache, and let us know if this problem still persists.

If you've had Master Keyword or Related Search Term rejections in the past, it could be because one or more of your terms were too broad, or were not directly related to the domain name. If you would like us to re-review any of your previously denied keyword terms, please get in touch with us via the Bodis Message Center or DM me.

Thanks.

Hello @alcy,

Yes, we automatically pull these expiration dates from the WHOIS record. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy, but we do update our records periodically to ensure they are kept up to date with the registrar. If this data is obfuscated/unobtainable, the 'Expiration Date' column is usually marked 'Unknown' from the Manage Domains page.

Also, we haven't made any changes to the sale settings as of yet, but our Smart Filtering does allow you to access a multitude of sale related data points which can also be applied to the Smart Widgets. However, we do have several sale updates in the pipeline, which I believe will include portfolio linking.

Thanks.

@matt_bodis
thanks for the quick reply.

now let me ask you this one final thing that im sure everyone is dyin to know :)

with this update have you specifically modified anything that might affect the final revenue numbers we see for our daily clicks visits etc... i ask this while fully aware that with every update you say that you aim to increase revenue for us... but are there speicific algorithm chances or modifications that directly affect revenue numbers? thanks! cheers.

@alcy,

Nothing changed on parking app (landers) at all. So the answer is no, we did nothing to increase or decrease parking revenue. ;)

However, the next major update in 90 days will be exactly that. We just can't do everything at once unfortunately, and probably for the best so that we don't break too many things and cause any major disruptions.

oh crap... hope with that next major update you will opt to increase it.. not decrease ;)

That'll be the goal. We'll try to make sure not to make any detrimental changes. The first version will be identical to what you see now, but up to date underlying tech. This will allow us to start doing more. Then from there we will start to make incremental improvements.

One more thing I forgot to mention that did change - CTR. CTR is now based only on Visits/Clicks to G. In the legacy UI, it was based on both Visits to G+Tier2 and Clicks to G, which didn't make sense.

Great. Thank you Matt. For the next update -

When I am clicking around looking at the new interface I noticed that when I set the number of rows per page to, lets say 10, and then I change the report from last 7 days to "current month" (for example), it goes back to 25 rows per page. It happens no matter what type of report I am viewing -- the rows per page always goes back to 25.

Can we have it stick? If I change it to 10 can it stay at 10? Maybe a global setting in our account? Just a thought, very nice changes - I like the dashboard but maybe smaller boxes so more boxes fit on a row...

Update: Scratch the dashboard resizing request, I just noticed the handle on the bottom right of the boxes! The rows-per-page suggestion remains, however. :)

Haha much agreed! We wanted to go live Jan 13-15 which is Monday-Wed, which is what normally we stick to. However that didn't happen and kept getting pushed back. Now we had a choice, go live Friday or go live Monday when half of us are on flights to Namescon. So Friday made far more sense.

Previous design was simpler and nicer in my opinion... and faster (on my old machine).

Currently even fonts are too small in 1920x1080 at 96 dpi.
They are too small even when Chromium is configured with Large fonts and Minimum font size is 12, font - DejaVu Sans.

Overall, I don't like any heavy panels at all...
The simpler - the better, lightweight philosophy.
