My revenue is up substantially but the visitor count is down. The increase is from just one domain and I'm sure it is because of zero click. The rest are down. My stats update every few minutes.

I thought Matt said that the stats are real time except for the European Yahoo feed?

Well, I've been working a lot of the visitor behavior technology last 3 or so days. I've been going back and forth between certain ways of validating / invalidating visitors. I ran into a lot of problems with database limitations.

In terms of visitors down, are visitors the only things that are down last few days, or revenue as well? If visitors are down, it's because we are marking them as invalid. I've added a few more things today to see what visitors are marked as valid and invalid, and I'm surprised to see that we have actually a lot more visitors to discard than I even thought. It seems that maybe 1 out of every 6 visitors are valid. Right now, the valid to invalid ratio is more like 1:2. Although, I have still not included the new filters into the reporting.

Stats should be in REAL TIME. I am surprised you are seeing updates every few minutes.

In terms of the estimate stats, the are estimates, but they will not drop below what you currently see. They will only increase. Once we add in the Yahoo feed bids, we'll be able to give you the correct numbers.

Finally, we actually will push the estimate numbers back by a 15 minute delay. Although, in a sense, it will be updated in real time, except that the delay will be 15 minutes. Like stock market prices for instance.

The reason for that is that if we discard visitors or clicks 3 minutes after they are logged, you would see the actual changes in your Bodis.com Earnings Report. People might begin to ask questions why the visitor numbers and revenue decreased since the last time they checked. So what I decided to do is give ourselves 15 minutes to figure out if a visitor/click is valid/invalid before our members can see it in their reports. Once 15 minutes pass by, the stats are final. Yahoo data would then be based on an estimate. Then the next day revenue would be adjusted if that estimate was more/less. So it would be more of a Sedo approach for those that know what I am talking about.

The problem with updating people's revenues and then giving out final numbers the next day is that too many people don't know the reason why their revenue dropped off the next day. If you take a look at other parking company threads, you can see that question asked endlessly - for those companies that provide estimates / finals next day. We have a lot of clients that are not as savy as some of the more experiences domainers - so it would make sense to make any posted data - FINAL. So this is just what I've been thinking about last few days.

But that will not come until this week. And it will come in a batch with probably the most accurate visitor figures we can get. And revenue ofcoarse should not decrease by any means.

I've yet to hear that anyone is doing BETTER with bodis2.0 (especially from the US). It seems the dust still needs to settle.

Traffic and clicks have dropped.
However income up 30% over last 6 months average.
I'm 50% of my highest month to date at Bodis.
It's been a slow consistant crawl.

Let me say.

it's way down on some names, but up on others.

Honestly, I'd suggest trying them all.

I have a name that did $1-$2 per DAY
at Sedo

and has done $20 yesterday and $22 today!

Again, try all of your names, you might be surprised.

:)

So, yeah. Happy here ;)

I agree that people should try all their domain names. At the same time, I agree that we are not ready to test out portfolios worth since our domain management system is not yet designed to work for hundreds of domain names at once - although that IS being worked on, and is one of the top priorities now.

Secondly, this week has just been tough. We have been hit pretty hard by robots last few days, that's why people were seeing so many errors. We just couldn't handle the tremendous increase in requests, even with the amount of servers that we have. So we had to redo some code, change things around, and at the same time, develop a system that tells abusive robots to just go home (which I am in the middle of putting live right now).

Tomorrow we will finally have the Yahoo EU earnings live in your Earnings Report.

Wednesday we will have the Knowledge Base live on the Bodis.com site.

And Thursday something new from your account settings page to keep us competitive with some other company's relatively new feature (**hint**hint**). :)

And as far as earnings go. I know that some people are seeing big revenue increases, it is just that not a lot of people talk about it openly.

And of coarse at the same time, we are working on putting live all the other major required features that we need to (Registration + Marketplace).

Two Things: First anybody know what the wink wink is about? I am missing it.

Secondly: Matt is right about the increase in earnings, it is usually the people not getting what they feel they deserve that are open about it. Do you ever see people yelling at a store manager because they feel they are getting too good of a deal? No, its the people who feel they aren't getting what they deserve that are more vocal.

As for my revenue it has gone up. Yes my traffic has decrease but we know why. I used to have tons of names at Bodis that were earning a penny a click or 2 cents a click. One name in particular used to get .05 a click on average. Since Bodis 2.0 came out it gets clicks around $1 some a bit less like .75 and them some on the other side like $1.40 so I for one can confirm the feeds/ads are better......

Also matt did you ever say a way to change a regular site back to a portal? I have some names that get traffic but I have no idea what for like LLLL.com or LLLLL.com and would just like the portal site back.

Thanks

Although I'm disappointed with the US feed (just arbitrage) and I haven't moved many of my names to Bodis, I'm always thoroughly impressed with Matt's efforts in staying active on this board and keeping everyone invloved. His passion is why I think Bodis is so great and why I continue to recommend it.

Seems like revenue is UP for everyone and that's the most important thing.

I must say I'm rather impressed with the new Bodis 2.0 :)
...
Might I suggest an "Edit" or "Manage Domain" link straight from the Earnings Report.

Not big increases Matt, but definitely a turnaround in the right direction. Whatever you're doing keep doing it. :)

I think we're all missing it and only Matt knows. Hopefully it's a super cool feature.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe payments are at April 2008 right now. Next payment should be for May 2008. I think bodis is still on 90 days .

Hi guys,

Does anyone have a problem with bodis nameservers.
I have many international (.de, .nl, .at) domains I would like to try on bodis but from eurodns i get the following error message:

Hello Matt,

Unfortunately there is still no way to park .de .nl .at domains under the bodis nameservers. When can we expect any update on that?

It's not 90 days. It's NET 45-60 as always. The payments this month will go out this upcoming week.

And it is not April nor May. It is June payments.
