There is a lot of people who used bitcoin because that was the only coin they knew of, and everyone accepted, but eth, and ltc have really made some leaps in terms of being accepted, but I think the jury is still out. Bitcoin to be honest from my experience is to slow, and to fee heavy for being used as an everyday commerce coin, it has more of a gold standard, as a safe, and steady holding as gold is to fiat money. It has a purpose, but not send money, accept, and be done. The float is 17M, a few more million to be mined, guessing about 2M are lost forever, or will sit untouched. So it has a rarity essence to it, not like the others that have billions outstanding.
